This is a first floor flat with a large terrace in the town centre of Casteldaccia, just off the town square. It is simply furnished in a bright contemporary style. It has wifi that was fine for web browsing and for watching a video. There is a TV with almost exclusively Italian language channels, but I discovered late on in our stay that it is sometimes possible to change the programme language to English. The flat is well located for town centre shopping: within a 5 minute walk there is a Deco supermarket on Via Puglie; we recommend the Pizzeria Gran Gourmet on Via Cavour, and there is a group of shops including a bakery, greengrocer and chemist on Via Roma. There are two patisseries nearby: one on the town square itself and the other the Lia Bar on the way to Via Roma. Elsewhere in Casteldaccia, there is a larger branch of Deco with a car park, a Conad supermarket as an alternative (although we thought Deco was cheaper) and the town has its own motorway (autostrada/freeway) junction for driving out of town. A road that goes under the motorway to the sea also leads to the town train station (not signposted down a righthand fork but with a car park and an hourly service to Palermo central taking 20 minutes), a small Esso petrol (gas) station which is much cheaper than the Q8 one in town, and what appear to be the two most popular local restaurants, La Rotonda and (our preference) Cafe 113. We enjoyed our stay in the town both for itself and as a base for exploring Sicily.

This is a town centre location, and therefore a certain amount of noise has to be expected. However in this case the ground floor business under the flat, which appears once to have been a games shop or arcade from pictures found online, is now a dance studio with loud music at points during the day. You can avoid the noise by going out on the terrace, and it does not occur continuously or at night, but we did find it a nuisance. The dance studio also contributes to a daytime shortage of on street car parking which lead to me once parking on the town square where I got a ticket from the local police; after that I used spaces on Via Roma when necessary as the flat does not have private parking. By night though, the dance studio is closed, street parking directly outside the flat is easier and apart from young adults on scooters the only regular noise is bell ringing which seems more frequent here than other italian places we've stayed in.

Location is very good and in centre of the town, parking is available on the street, near the apartment. There are all stores, gellateria and everything what needed. Very nice and huge terrace. Suggest for families, nice place.
