The property was beautiful and well maintained.
The pool chairs probably need a change as they looked very old and dusty

Staff are very pleasant , and helpful.
This place seriously needs some major renovations, starting with refreshed painting, new doors, rusted out. Cleanliness the shower, baths needed desperate TLC, dirty , old.
It could be a beautiful place , but would not recommend based on the State of the rooms. So many nicer places to stay , which would be value for money.
The pool needs cleaning. .
The gardens were well looked after , but inside the villa, no.
Old appliances, just not ideal.

This place was amazing. Unfortunately, I caught Covid on the plane and was bedridden.
I ordered Panadol to be delivered, and the front desk offered me a few of their pills. I refused because I had 3 packets arriving soon.
Being so sick, my time here went from the bed to the bath, trying to control my fever.
OMG, the bath. A huge stone bath that kept the heat.
Silly silly me. I ordered a dinner. Think Squid and Onion rings. It came quickly, and I enjoyed picking at it throughout the day/afternoon.
When the order came, I had cash + tip. Which I gave to the man. I wasn't given the order to sign, nor did I think about it.
At checkout, I was again changed for this meal.
Still being sick, I didn't want to make too much of a seen and coughed it up to "he needed the money more than me.
Please remember to sign at every room service. It was theft, but im not going to kick up over $15Au

I loved staying at Villa Kayu Lama in Ubud for its peaceful, private atmosphere surrounded by lush greenery. The villas are spacious, beautifully designed, and feel like a true escape, especially with the private pool. The staff were exceptionally warm and attentive, always going out of their way to make the stay comfortable. The location is quiet yet convenient, and the overall experience felt relaxing, luxurious, and authentically Balinese.
One downside was that the pool could have been better maintained, as it didn’t feel as well kept as the rest of the property.

Setting is really peaceful and quiet. Staff are amazing and make the place so special. Beds were so comfy and villas are spacious. Breakfast is fantastic.
Bugs bugs and more bugs. I understand it’s in the middle of nowhere, so bugs are expected but they just never end! Sun loungers are very dirty and need TLC desperately. We had an ants nest in the middle of one so that was completely unusable. Pool is nice but could do with being cleaned. A tree covers the pool and fills the pool up with leaves and dirt. Could definitely be better. Location wise the hotel is so out the way. Which for a few days is nice but you’re not even close to a shop or anything necessary.

The location was decent and the vibe was nice. Front reception staff was friendly
Had a poor experience with the in house spa, felt very uncomfortable and a little bit violated with how the lady’s were going about with the massage

The location was great and the staff were amazing very helpful. Really liked the shuttle bus to Ubud centre. Loved the pool and enjoyed it.
A little disappointed in that the villa is not as new as it looks in the pictures when booking. Really can do with a refurbishment and update to the villas. TV was too small, fridge old, and too many insects and Gecko/lizards which my wife hated. Also really did not like that the breakfast we had to order from a select menu and was not like a buffet style like other hotels. Did not like that breakfast did not include our toddler so had to pay extra and only Bali coffee was free but other coffee such as Cappuccino was charged.

Villa Kayu Lama is really a hidden gem in Ubud, the staff are very friendly and helpful and that is what makes any place wonderful.
We booked a villa and it is very beautiful every thing and details are amazing and it is very clean. Especially the bathroom I loved it so much!.
They also have a free shuttle to Ubud center and you can communicate with the staff via WhatsApp for everything.
The Air Conditioner was so bad! I don’t know why such a beautiful place especially in their Villa the AC was so bad.
Our first day the AC brings hot air and they fixed it, and in our last day the kept dropping water inside our room, I think they should replace it.

Very friendly staff, kudos to the team for looking after us during our stay. Responsive on WhatsApp, and prompt to follow up. Food at the restaurant, in particular breakfast, was good. Enjoyed the peace next to the rice field, away from the hustle and bustle.
The age of the property is starting to show, with cracked tiles and worn furniture. Plumbing in the bathroom could be better, and given it's close proximity to nature, expect to encounter insects like ants and mosquitos. Something (probably a bat?) came by on 2 nights and pooped around the communal area.

Amazing friendly service, staff went above and beyond for us. The villa was out of this world and felt like paradise.
The property was a little far from Ubud centre and was very difficult to get a taxi from there

Omg, the view from my bedroom was beautiful. the bed was super comfortable! The bathroom was huge and had a lux look to it. The location was serene, very green and plush. Room service was quick. Although i didn't partake in any of their services, they do offer spa treatments and tours which i felt was very convenient.
Although, i didnt complain the phone and tv didn't work in room 211. Also, there was a decaying lizard behind the bathroom sliding door. I

The villas are very nice and the staff are friendly.
There isn’t much else on the property, other than the restaurant and the rooms, it’s a great place to stay if you’re the kind of person who likes to explore the local area. Grabs are cheap and easy to get into town.

A lovely stay outside the business of Ubud. It's nice and quiet and a lot more tranquil than if you were to stay in the centre. It's a quick bike ride into the centre of Ubud or there is a free shuttle bus available. The room was very comfortable, and the bathroom was nice and clean. The restaurant attached had great food with a lovely view over rice fields. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money, will stay again next time I'm in Ubud!

Nice, but pictures are too good, rooms outdated.
At some point a lot of bugs started coming into my room, but they cleaned it fast when I’ve asked.

Everything was clean and the staff were amazing great location. Would stay again because it was mostly perfect. It was near every yet still piece full unit early 2 mornings in a row a man was singing very loudly some where out on the streets at 3am in the morning and i couldn’t go back to sleep because it went on for an hour plus both mornings. So maybe bring ear plus but once again all that I’ve written are the only things I can think to f as everything else was great and I mean what do you expect in a busy area.
Wasn’t too much of a fan of the breakfast, we tried different things everyday and were there 4 days my partner and I chose different things and it was very average. The pool was a big small and all the rooms over looked the pool and it was right at the entrance so felt very uncomfortable to swim as people were walking in and out of the property. But other than that everything else was perfect.

The villa was spacious, the pool was a good size, bed very comfortable and breakfast very good and filling (there was a good variety of choices as well)., the outdoor area was also quite nice. While the property is located a little outside of Ubud, it felt like a peaceful retreat, away from all the hustle and bustle. We had a complimentary massage and decided to book another at a later stage as the prices were good.
The villa was a little run down. Air con was quite loud, didn’t work too well, one of them was leaking and spitting out ice at one point. While there were no issues with animals or insects inside of the villa itself, our villa was located right next to the reception where a couple of parrots were in a cage and they were quite loud during the early morning hours, making it almost impossible to sleep through the sounds they made, as well as there were either mice or rats somewhere in the roof that we could here running around and squeaking during the night, which was not very pleasant. The main door in our villa also had come out of its hinges on one side and was thus slamming against the door frame every time some wind blew, we hence had to put a chair up to the door so it didn’t move and cause extra noise.

The staff was spectacular, they were all so kind and helpful and there was no task that was too much! The facilities were so great, they had everything you need for a fabulous holiday. The breakfast options were great and I liked how you had the option to eat in the restaurant or your villa.
When it rained heavily, the bathroom floor got really wet and could have been dangerous.

Omg I cannot praise this place enough, the location was too good!!..we stayed in a one bedroom private villa with pool and everything about this place was worth it. To start with the amazing view of the rice fields and the whole feel of nature and its secluded exclusivity. Albeit it's slightly far from center, but that is what I wanted as we had activities planned, so transport was not an issue for us. The restaurant has good pasta and seafood options. Pizza was too bad...but other options were good...maybe they should improve on this part.
The breakfast was top notch and they delivered it in room ( order to be given a day earlier)..
Expect small insects and lizards..but that's expected of a place surrounded with nature. Bathrooms were good too. However they could use better wooden flooring as some floor blocks were coming off a bit. There should have been a curtain to cover the bathroom area as it had a transparent glass which did nothing to cover the otherwise fully open bathroom.
Pizza taste and quality to be improved. And more options to be added ... especially in the grilled options. Bathroom divider should have a curtain from inside atleast.

Everything was amazing. They were so friendly accommodating and everything we needed was right there. We utilise the bus service to get into it Ubud. We ate at the restaurant and had massages within the villa. It wasn’t very central that for us being out of the craziness was the best part. We were surrounded by silent ricefields and nature.
Would love to have spent more time .
