The hotel has potential. BUT!
The food and the location are superb and the generous breakfast buffet has something for everyone. The interior is of high quality and pleasing.
I have a long list but let me just highlight some things: no-one seems to oversee the young staff so there is a lack of service. Paying 20 Euros per day for parking at an off-site (5min drive away) lot is robbery, and one can't get to one's car except for during the 4 shuttle services during the day. Tables are not cleared or re-set. Cleanliness is taken very loosely here and dustballs abound in the bathroom and rooms. This is not a 4* Superior - but the prices they charge certainly are.

Way overpriced for something that is nothing lone advertised.
Location was great. Breakfast and Bar area directly on the lake was super nice.
I would not rate this hotel a four star hotel. We got a super expensive room with view into the very ugly back of the building or whatever it was. Felt like they put us in a converted closet or something. The bed was good, and in the end it was ok, as we were hardly in the room anyway. But the discrepancy between the marketing pictures and the reality and the high price really made me feel cheated. Overall it has kind of come into its years, with ugly brown carpet in the hall ways and stairs. Breakfast was ok - regular hotel breakfast. The space of the buffet was way too small for the many people and the amount of food put out was always empty. The poot lone guy that had tonreplenish the trays and make the eggs was not able to manage it all on his own. I felt bad for him.

Great lakeside location and we enjoyed the lake view from the room balcony.
The hotel rightfully claims to have an excellent wine cellar with the very good hotel restaurant. This was actually part of the reason why we chose the place. However, when ordering wine in the restaurant, we were informed that we could only order local wine from the region (part of a summer promotion celebrating local food and wine). While the focus on local produce is great, leaving no alternatives was a huge miss as we are not fans of the local wine and ended up spending too much on a very low quality local wine. Very disappointing.

Unreliable, missing the basics of hospitality
The location is central and one can walk on the lake's shores from there. Many walks around, reachable on foot.
Last minute cancelation for the restaurant reservation (announced during check-in, for a reservation done a week earlier). The restaurant was the only reason we chose this hotel in the first place, for a birthday weekend. The reason put forward was the presence of a group and no alternatives were offered. Requested welcome basket for birthday was missing. Request to speak to manager was ignored, not even a note, no sorry card, nothing. Staff not taking responsibility, very disappointing. You can hear the TV from adjacent rooms

Generally more than okay but I also had some disappointments
The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts that I have experienced. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable and the hotel staff were really helpful.
The amount of food which was served in the restaurant for the evening meal was really small, especially for the price. I thought that the price that I saw on booking.com was the price I would pay. I was really disappointed to find out that this price did not include local taxes and service costs, such as electricity.
