if you are looking for a relaxed place to to meditate even alone or together...

As a single traveler, everything was perfect in my expectation. Winery tour at 4pm, dinner, calm night garden, also beautiful room, building and scenery. The hotel is good for honeymoon. But if you are looking for a relaxed place to to meditate even alone or together, this small winery hotel will be the best choice. Don't forget their extra virgin olive oil.

A lovely place to stay, great staff and breathtaking views of Tuscany

The breakfast was excellent. The viennoiserie made every morning was warm and fantastic. The staff at breakfast were thoughtful and kind. They even tolerated the Canadians wanting to eat outside on a cool October morning. (Haha they were very gracious about being a bit cold). Frankly all of the staff were great. The wait staff at dinner were also fabulous and navigated difficult guests (one wanted doors shut to help tune out the loud Americans in the next room, another needed a quick escape from the suffocating perfume worn by another couple). The front desk staff and cats were also welcoming and kind. They Turkish spa room was an executed surprise; really enjoyable. All-in-all this was a lovely place to stay, with breathtaking views of Tuscany and every interaction with staff was a delight. They were nice and all did their jobs well. Go for the views, the staff, and the cats.

Our room in the Annex was a bit small and there was no comfortable seating. There were comfy couches in the main entrance of the annex, in a shared common area, so not a private place to sit in comfort. I see online, now that we are home, that some rooms in the main building had a couch in the room; they looked a bit more comfortable. This was only potential negative I could think of.

Lovely Castelo in the Tuscan hills, Wonderful place with iincredible staff.

The castello was excellent, stunning views, the breakfasts were delicious and abundant, staff was superb. f... The dining room is lovely, except the lovely small dining room (maybe 5 tables) food is accessed by the waitstaff through a dumbwaiter that is on one wall, causing a bit of clatter and lots of movement back and forth. that aside, The menu is terrific, food lovely and creative, and the steak a la Florentine was terrific.. the wine list very very good. The staff in the dining room were like a ballet duet, the way they moved seamlessly threw the dining room. Our room was very large, with ample closets in an above, it had a very lovely four poster bed, with excellent amenities... bathroom had great toiletries, etc. I would highly recommend.

The road to the Castello is very difficult to maneuver, the road surface is rocky, winding and bumpy. . The parking requires a hike.. but the lovely staff will help and get. your car. ..Only issue was the one dinner, when there were 2 couples in adjacent dinning room who were incredibly loud, even boisterous, the resident manager could only apologize to us vs. giving them an extra dessert or something to ask them to be a bit more aware of other diners. This was our first night there and made the entire evening very very bad, could hardly hear ourselves in a room with 5 quiet tables for two. But still a great dinner.

The WOW Factor

From the moment you step onto the property, you are taken by the breathtaking setting and panoramic views - simply wow. The warm welcome from the incredibly friendly and helpful staff is another wow. Exploring the Castello itself and staying in a room with beautiful views and great amenities was a highlight, and the restaurant delivered yet another wow with its excellent food. And the final “wow on the cake” 😊: the vintage Alfa Romeo Spider available for rental. Driving it through the Tuscan hills gave us a magical half-day that felt straight out of a 70s movie. A truly unforgettable stay — highly recommended.

A wonderful short break in an excellent hotel.

We were welcomed to the property and, after a light lunch outside, were shown to our spacious and well equipped room. Everything about the property was superb, including dinner in the restaurant and breakfast on the terrace. The views in virtually all directions were stunning. The wine tasting was also very good (as were the wines!).

It was a bit of a trek to the pool, but worth it especially since the weather was so hot.

Beautiful scenery and food, absolutely incredible stay.

We loved our room, and the pool was incredible with exceptional views. The whole ambience and atmosphere of this place is peaceful and like magic. Gulios menu was fantastic and every night exceeded expectations. I also loved the new olive oil massage and the two masseuse were fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and the wine tour is a must to really understand the history and try some sensational wines. We will be back again for a third time for sure!

We loved out stay, but as our second time we were disappointed we couldn't sit on the terrace for dinner due to a large party taking president. We would have appreciated alternating nights to appreciate the view as this is what we remembered most from our first stay last year.

Wonderful place, buy their wine but eat elsewhere

The location, the architecture, the peacefulness, the gardens, the wine tour, the wine tasting. The wine tour and tasting hosted by Caterina was the highlight. It was excellent.

I may have been unlucky but for me the restaurant was a major let down. I was on a 3 week tour of Italy and had stayed in many hotels, none of which were as beautiful or as high end as this one. But this was the worst food. No imagination, no interesting dishes on offer, no special chef dishes. One of the reasons i travel is for the food and this was a major let down.

The castellina should easily have 5*. What a stunning place! The location, views, food and exceptional service- is just incredible. The atmosphere is so relaxing that you feel like you just want to stay there for the whole day and do nothing. We had so many plans to travel around and visit places but the hotel was peaceful, so perfect that we just stayed in by the pool admiring the views. Also not even worth looking for local restaurant. The dinner every evening was just piece of art! Definitely coming back!!! oh what a amazing time we had with you😚 Thank you!
