Molino di Cogno

Wow… it’s difficult to find the words to describe how beautiful Moligno Di Cogno really is. It’s truly a magical place and the owners, Carlo & Margherita are so welcoming. Our apartment was even better than we expected. So much of the historical elements of this ancient Mill have been preserved alongside beautiful modern design elements; making our stay here very comfortable. We had everything we needed to make our own meals, a fabulous double shower, a wonderfully comfortable bed and a smart TV. The gardens around the property are stunning with plenty of tables, chairs and loungers to relax. We loved just spending at least a couple of hours every day enjoying the peace & quiet. The nearest village is 4 miles away where there is a Coop supermarket and plenty of great restaurants and gift shops. It’s the perfect base to explore all of the beautiful towns & villages in this area. Thank you Carlo and Margherita for looking after us so well and making our stay extra special; we are so happy to have discovered a true piece of heaven in the Tuscan countryside. We cannot wait to return.

Prachtige plek. Je slaapt in een museum. De oude molen is nauwkeurig opgeknapt, met heerlijke kamers. Carlo en Margherita gaan tot het uiterste om je verblijf top te maken.

This converted old mill, is a real labour of love. Margherita and Carlo have done an incredible job ensuring the space is comfortable, clean, with modern amenities (power shower, coffee machine) whilst staying true to its history and charm, with lots of restorations of furniture and artifacts from the original mill. My sister's, mother and I had a wonderful stay here, and adored all the small details, for example the candles lit outside for when we returned home in the evening, the fresh cut rose in the bathroom, delicious coffee and quality coffee machine, fresh white fluffy towels etc. This place is truly magical, the perfect escape and reset space from the busy, hustle and bustle of city life. You wake up to birds chirping, the sound of the river flowing and the rustle of the trees. Having a car is a must to get about and explore as it's a remote spot, which is exactly what we wanted. I went for a 5k run and took my family on a lovely walk locally, so lots of places to explore by foot also, but car is advisable to get to the local town, nearby vineyards etc. Margherita and Carlo were brilliant hosts, and recommended all of the restaurants we booked locally.

That we didn't stay longer, but we'll be back for sure :-)
