Horseshoe Inn

The location was amazing beautiful views of the surrounding hillsides. The staff were exceptional and the breakfast was amazing the room size was a very good size the view from the room was good.

The decor of the room needs a bit of freshening up the glass tables and the mirrors were very dusty and dirty there were cobwebs on the corners of the walls. The bed mattress was too soft for our liking the cost of the room didn’t reflect the quality of the room there were coffee stain on the legs of the dresser and the paintwork needs some serious attention.

A small, comfortable room. Very soft bed. The food, both evening meal and breakfast were excellent.

Breakfast was really good 👌 best omelette I have ever had 🙏🏼

The snotty woman (another guest) who exclaimed loudly in the dining room of her disapproval when my young rescue dog barked 🙄

The Inn is located about 5 miles north of Peebles in a quiet village with easy access to Edinburgh. The rooms are located in a separate building adjacent to the car park and this was originally the old school from the Victorian era. Bedrooms are small but adequate and the beds are very comfortable. The inn has a beautiful stained glass window and other features from a local church. The staff were all very pleasant and really helpful. There is a really good menu and the food was excellent and you can dine in the bar area, snug or restaurant. Dogs are only allowed in the bar and snug areas apart from breakfast when they are allowed in the restaurant. The Polish Map of Scotland is a short walk away and is worth a visit. We visited Portmore Gardens (about a mile away) on a Wednesday afternoon and the gardens are well maintained and very beautiful (best in July and August). The gardens are not officially open to the public at the moment as the estate is currently for sale but they currently allow people to visit and there is a small charge.

The room was a little on the small side but adequate for our needs.
