Acropolis House Hotel Classic

The historic building. Very accommodating staff. Good breakfast.

Family run lodgings which was charming. Great location and not far to walk to many key sites. Great air conditioning and delicious and generous breakfast. It’s an old property which has had mod cons added to make it comfy and it also makes it quirky. We liked it.

The Acropolis House has a lot of pros -- excellent location. If you walk up to the fourth floor, you can open the window in the hallway and have a beautiful view of the acropolis, especially at night. The hotel is right beside a coffee shop called BBL which is excellent and also very close to the Bazaar discount grocery store. In just minutes, you can walk to all the shops and restaurants and the acropolis itself. It is also a great value, as the price per night is very affordable. There is breakfast offered in the dining room in the morning which includes water, juice and coffee, boiled eggs and grapes, sweet bread and slices of bread with meat and cheese. If you are leaving early, they will pack you a breakfast box to go and leave it in the fridge. There is a small cooler/fridge in the room, but no kettle for tea or coffee. However, if you ask downstairs, they are happy to heat up a pot of water for you!

Just be aware that there is no elevator in the hotel, so you will be bringing your suitcases up the flights of stairs. The room itself is also very basic -- the bedding is light and simple. I don't consider these things to be a problem, just something to know ahead of time.
