Good food and lovely staff
We were in a cottage in the grounds and the bathroom smelt a bit of damp. Assume it’s not easy to ventilate.

The breakfast was excellent. We would of liked more choice in the main menu.
The mattress was very uncomfortable.

Excellent food. Staff most helpful. Very lovely old world atmosphere. Loved it!
The over elaborate shower that was far to large for the cubicle was quite dreadful.

The breakfast was lovely and the staff were always ready with a warm greeting. Young Claire was a lovely addition and so easy to chat with as was her brother.
my husband and I both felt the atmosphere was extremely formal and not very relaxed. We travel a lot and love staying at old stately homes but we just didn’t feel this hit the mark as far as atmosphere goes. Lighting in our bedroom was very bright when the overhead fixtures were on and not enough light when just using the bedside lamps. The shower was extremely small in fact tiny - hardly room to move.

Fabulous hotel with interesting history, great service and superb location.
Being very picky...no shower cap and no body lotion. Not a problem for me, but a friend mentioned it.

Excellent breakfast with good choices, attentive service and the cooked breakfast always piping hot.
Dinner had wide menu choices even for gluten free (coeliac) visitors. Even when numbers dining were high there was no drop in service standards.
Occupied a downstairs junior suite which was so convenient for a wheelchair/walker guest. Access from the car park was more difficult as the front steps were deep and but ramps gave entry to the bar and the rest of the hotel. Without any prompting or request a member of staff always made themselves available to assist and that was much appreciated.
All staff were well trained and at the same time helpful and cheerful from the welcome at the reception desk to housekeeping staff that we occasionally met. We were greeted throughout which makes all the difference. Well done for making our break so memorable......despite the weather!
Heating could be a little variable but then so was the outside temperature.

Gorgeous building & grounds. Not just a place to stay but an experience - a wonderful one. The staff was wonderful & the meals were top notch. Rooms were beautiful & I didn't have to crawl around locating an electrical outlet.

The location was very peaceful just what we wanted set on stubbing grounds. The hotel itself including our room was very in keeping with the overall vibe. Breakfast was great and we got a complimentary upgrade which was great! Staff all b friendly.
The bar was a little tired and didn’t really fit in. And some bits of the property looked a little abandoned not sure if they were having work done. We over paid I feel but this was due to booking on the day.

We have been staying at Wrea Head Hall since 2015 and I think we have stayed at least six times. We love the location and the views and have always been happy with the service and food.
For the first time we stayed in one of the Coach House Rooms. We stayed for four nights and although our room was serviced each day no towels were changed and it wasnt hoovered or cleaned even though there were lots of bits from the towels on the carpet. The main thing we didnt like was a section in the room guide which stated “Only food and beverages that have been purchased from Wrea Head Hall Hotel may be consumed on the premises . In the event that it is found that beverages and food have been consumed in the hotel or grounds that have not been purchased from the hotel the hotel reserves the right to charge for this!! ALSO if you wish to consume your own wine or champagne anywhere on the premises charges will be Wine £15 Champagne £20!!” We therefore followed the rules on this but when we arrived back for lunch at 2.00pm we were told we couldnt order sandwiches as they had stopped serving!!! We also felt the cost of the evening meal was quite expensive we had two courses and one drink and the bill for two of us £106 pounds. We have always loved to go to this hotel but not sure we will return again next year.

Very nice old property, nice features, lovely area to sit outside with views of the grounds and beyond.
I was disappointed that there wasn’t more toiletries in the room, the bathroom didn’t have any shelves or cupboard to put stuff on, the shower was fixed and was extremely strong like a waterfall, only one tea bag and no biscuits when we arrived . Not much choice on the menu for vegetarians.
