Homely, Quiet Location, do a proper shop before arriving, once here you won’t want to leave 😌

Premises were clean, quiet, homely and cosy with easy access to a “VERY LOCAL” hotel at the bottom of the road for breakfasts and evening meals, also great location to stroll down to the banks of The Clyde River and enjoy loverly scenic walks along the shoreline and not have to worry about parking charges as car parked up at premises. Stunning views across the river and across the mountains, brilliant observation point for a good set of binoculars to watch the opposite banks of the river and see the activity of river life from the warmth of an upstairs window, or just sit and relax downstairs with a view across the valley or sit in the lounge and enjoy quiet uninterrupted peaceful down time with a book or catch up with the world and watch undisturbed TV

It had a lovely outdoor space, which we were able to utilize due to excellent weather. We appreciated the clothesline and washing machine, as we had been traveling for 2+ weeks. The kitchen had everything we needed, plus more. Loved the view!

Parking was a challenge for Americans, as were all the parked cars on Barnhill Road. We also struggled with the lock, perhaps because we were unfamiliar with that type of lock. A mirror in the twin bedroom would have been helpful.

Great value for money, but not an 8,6 for us.

We stayed at the Dumbarton House with a view for four days. Let me start with: the property is good value for money. That means: we did get a basic apartment, but we didn't pay a lot for it. So it depends on your expectations! The house has plenty of space, the communication was very friendly and the hostess (with whom we only spoke through messaging) seemed very friendly and helpful. The view from the house was really good as well. From the location you can get to the city quite easy, e.g. we took the train to Glasgow from here. There is a washing machine, tv and plenty of facilities nearby. There is a small garden included which, with good weather, is really nice. Including garden chairs, etc. The kitchen was OK, the house was clean!

For us, this property doesn't live up to the average rating of (currently) 8,7. Yes, as I said, it is good value for money. But the house itself was a little more basic than expected: the interior is quite minimalistic (one couch, no chairs or table). We choose not to eat on the bar-ish stools in the kitchen, because we didn't fancy looking at a wall. The house has the essentials you need, but nothing more. As examples: Cutlery was limited (3 knives), no salad bowl, small pans, etc. We didn't quite like the shower: you have to shower in the bath, waterpower was not good during our stay. Overall: a sufficient stay and house, but could be better with a few tweaks.

Nice clean house near dumbarton in quiet location with nice views

Very clean, 25 mins walk to town centre, 15 min drive to loch lomond, lovely views from the living room and front bedroom. Excellent communications from the owner. Well equipped house. Nice quiet area.

the view was good, the woman on the phone was really nice

there was bugs in the bath and in everyroom in the appartment, bunch of people screaming outside during the night,beds were not comfortable, carpet on the stairs and floor was dirty so had to hover the floor my self, cups were also not clean, all the rooms were freezing cold even with the heating on.

We spent the weekend on loch lomond kayaking. Its a 20mins trip which was perfect. Very clean and central. Spectacular views from house. Host was very helpful. Will definitely return. 10/10
