Dar Ben Gacem Kahia

Heavenly rooftop, super classy dar in all conceivable ways. The place is out of a movie and the reception is a mini museum in itself. The staff go above and beyond to help and they even prepared breakfast for us at 4:30 before leaving for the desert. The breakfast was generally quite good. The junior suite room Tissier was spacious and lovely and we had a semi-private living room that we could share with the room next door that had an amazing decoration, a kettle and 2 armchairs. The junior suites also benefit from a private staircase that takes you straight to reception without passing through the atrium. We would definitely stay again.

The location in the Medina is pretty remote compared to other dars, however not something unmanageable. Please note that the backstreet which allows you to get a taxi is not the best option as you will almost never find a taxi there and will always have to result to the app Yassir, paying a premium but a fixed ride cost though.

This is a most outstanding place to stay in Tunis. In the heart of the Medina , the Dar has been beautifully restored. Spacious rooms, modern facilities around a cool tiled courtyard. Exceptional display of Tunisian pottery and tiles make this a destination in itself. Delicious breakfasts and dinner one night. Memorable.

Exvellent breakfast choice, with modifications when requested. Staff advised us of good places to eat when out and about.

Dated look of facilities such as shower screens, tile groutings. These operated as expected though, but its the first impression I refer to.
