Great little cottage and well located in the village of Sedbergh. Everything you could need for a short stay.
The heating instructions were a little confusing.

Cosy little cottage perfect for a short break. Well equipped and great location. Very comfortable bed. Very peaceful location.
Duvet was a bit dense and heavy for time of year, it was very warm.

Great location very near shops and pubs , quiet , parking available , well equipped kitchen .
Friendly neighbour. Good walks from the door , hills and river walks . (Crown green bowls nearby welcome people for taster sessions ).
Lots door hooks for items around house.
We took foldable medium size dog cage 1m x 0.5 m , used in living / dining room , space a bit tight but managed .
It’s old cottage 2 up 2 down so be prepared quite small floor space , it’s great for 2 or 3 adults and dog,. Or 2 plus 2 young children . Only has bunks in small bedroom . Only had sofa seats for 3 people as small living / dining soace .
Big cramped if had to dry lots wet clothing .
We used airer in garden . Not sure if washing line available but would be handy .
Shared garden with neighbours so be mindful if need secure one for a dog , neighbours didn’t mind our dog going across though .

The location.
It was cold. Heating insufficient luckily it was a warm weekend but usually its cold and lack of heating would have me asking for a refund. Heating is a must. Stove very smokey and it set off smoke alarm.

It was clean
It was -3 and no heating, with storage heaters less than satisfactory.
Unless fire was lit all the time it was cold.
All beds small

Very very basic, no welcome note left, property was very small & locations was great as we needed to be in the area.
My family rented a property 4 doors up which was left with a welcome note, basic welcome products, bread, cake, jam etc & paid less in a larger property
The house was clean but not ‘clean’
Very small & noisy road

Mattress on double bed is very comfortable.
Bunk beds are very small
The lounge has only a 2 person sofa and an armchair, this place is supposed to be for 4 people ....... can only seat 3 people.
The table in the lounge has 3 chairs and i guess the other visitors have to sit on the window sill ......

No breakfast so irrelevant
An organised book with instructions instead of bits of paper everywhere. Logs for the fire missing but plenty visible on website. No idea how heating worked. One portable heater was bust. I think sitting room could be changed to make it more user friendly. I must have received over 30 emails about this booking between booking .com and Sykes. Neverending .

The property was beautiful. It was clean and had everything you would need. Great to have own outdoor space
We travelled when temperatures were -5. The storage heaters did not warm the property enough. It was unacceptable when travelling with children. It was so cold the towels and bedding felt damp.

The addition of a hairdryer would be great

Good value for money. A good size for what I needed, comfortable and had everything I needed.
Nice to have a little freezer.
No bath, but that's my issue!
Storage heaters are not a great way to heat a house - they're on in the early hours of the morning and daytime and cool off by the evening.
The wood burning cooker/oven is big for the space and I can't imagine lighting it - a small woodburner would be great.
The saucepans are all big - could do with one small one
The electric blow heater (?) doesn't work
The hanging ornaments etc in the bathroom need a good dust!
The road is quite noisy - but that's not the fault of the cottage.

Small cottage and two tall people. Banged heads in lights. furniture for small people. Bunkbeds not suitable for anyone over 5’. son struggled to fit in. asked to leave property by 9am as that’s what time cleaner comes. garden not enclosed - links with other cottages.

Well positioned in the town and in the district with several suitable amenities nearby

Ideal location. Comfortable bed. Good shower.
Cold. Only one storage heater worked. Notes telling us how to behave! Booking.com says departure 10:00am but two notes saying cleaners arrive at 9:00am and we needed to be out! Immersion heater needs a thermostat! More notes directing that it must be switched off after 25 minutes.

The cottage was cozy and welcoming - with tea and red wine waiting! At one point, the electricity went out and the team at Sykes Cottages and the owner were brilliant at informing us of the issue and more than accommodating. Love the location in town and would definitely book again - 10/10 stars!
The bunk beds were a little short for adults and we could have done with more logs for the wood burner. Other than that, everything was great!

The cottage is very centrally located for walks, finding a pub meal, a coffee and getting groceries. Students of Sedbergh public school can be seen going to classes etc which gives the otherwise small and quiet town a lively feel. We were able to park the car near the front door which was nice also (especially when ambushed by rain storms).
A cushion or two on the couch? :) We understand the problems with the heating are in the process of being sorted and it did not bother us.

Very well presented and immaculate cottage in a great location.
Poor heating due to night storage heaters which are neither efficient or effective. A small supply of wood is available for the stove so remember to take extra with you and be prepared if you are going during winter months.

The property is in a great location - especially if you are staying due to the school. The kitchen is well equipped and tidy and the wood burner is very nice although takes up lots of room in the lounge.
I arrived in afternoon in winter and the property has storage heaters which were not turned on. These take around 12 hours to heat up so for the first evening and overnight it was very cold. There is a lovely wood burning stove and wood provided for one night. The living room got very warm once a fire was lit but it was still cold in the kitchen and upstairs. Once the storage heaters kicked in the next morning it was warm. You also need to buy more wood from a place outside the village and I had no car to collect, although I understand they can sometimes deliver.
The main bedroom is nice, the double bed is very small (possibly not a 4ft6 even) and as a couple if you like your sleep space it will be too small. The bunk beds in the other room suit smaller children.
