Probably the nearest hotel to the theatre which is why we stayed here and it’s good value

Friendly & helpful staff.
Located close to town attractions, e.g. theatre, High St, Art Gallery, cathedral.
Confortable bed, crisp , clean linen & towels.
Room, whilst clean and comfortable, was very basic & dated now. A fresh coat of paint and new soft furnishings would make a big difference. We stayed in the same room about 10 years ago..it had not changed!

Location was great for city centre/theatre. Staff were very welcoming.
Room greatly in need of refurbishment and a little dirty - see photos. Described as 'beautifully converted stable block' is not quite what we found - perhaps some years ago, now in need of a makeover. No headboard. Continental breakfast very limited. There was actually a four pint milk carton on the counter. I didn't expect 'posh', but this was something unusual. Everything on offer was fine, just minimal choice.
