    We had a wonderful extended weekend holiday at Haven Riviera Cancun. From our (early) arrival, to our departure, the staff ensured we had what we needed and were attentive with service. We stayed in a garden view room, which was serene - although if you are noise sensitive while sleeping, I recommend ear plugs as the birds are quite active and loud in the mornings (but that's a minor thing and we are in their habitat.) Our AC seemed not to get very cold so we had to rely primarily on the fan for cooling down. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom amenities were plentiful and smelled wonderful! The restaurants offered a variety of food and I'd rarely recommend a buffet but the made-to-order tacos were truly a highlight. It is often difficult to experience "authentic" local cuisine at a resort, but the tacos were a welcome addition to the otherwise run-of-the-mill offerings. It was especially welcome after expecting more local cuisine at the steakhouse and it being 3/5 stars for taste and opportunity for authentic experience. I ordered the cochinita pibil, which was great, but my husband ordered the flank steak with what was listed as stuffed squash blossom and the steak was cooked so well done it was inedible and there was no stuffed blossom only some overcooked vegetables. The guac was fine, hard to mess that up, but not an exciting addition - especially when it was ordered as an appetizer and arrived 30 minutes into the meal. The hibachi experience was entertaining and the food was good and what you expect from hibachi. Room service varied by day, the pizza was consistently undercooked (a few more minutes in the oven would do wonders!) the grilled chicken, tenders and fries were good and enchiladas at breakfast were highlights. We enjoyed time at both pool areas-which offer different experiences. The "main pool" with the upper and lower areas was a lively and active area for daily parties and entertainment (the live violin was great!) while the Haven (lagoon) pool was incredibly relaxing and calm. Even arriving in the mid-afternoons, we never had issues finding chairs or day beds to lounge on and the staff ensured we were well cared for everywhere we went. It is rare I find somewhere we would return to, primarily as we look to experience new places, but this is somewhere I'd absolutely return to - and look forward to doing so.

    activities were bad; sometimes they forgot to activity class! And front desk person attituded was bad, and waiter who work at buffet restaurant asked us tip for him. I've never have that kind of experience. Won't go there again.
