Staff and manager are extremely friendly and helpful, the property is artsy, clean and very comfortable

It’s the second time I’ve stayed there for a reason. There’s nothing I really don’t like the vibe is super chill.

Cord was very warm and friendly. He kindly upgraded our room and was always available with a smile to see if we needed anything. We were right downtown but the hotel was quiet. We loved our stay and will be coming back!

Good value for money. It was clean. The hosts were very kind and helpful. Drinking water available. Small outside garden and sitting area. There was a fridge, burner and kitchen utensils which I didn’t use. I liked the location away from hub but I still able to walk to ADO station. Good shower.

It's important to understand what you are getting. For the price I wasn't expecting anything fancy, but I have to say I was overall not excited about certain aspects of the property which is a shame since there are some positives. What are the positives? First, the people running the place were very nice and helpful. Second, great location. It's far enough away from 5th Ave to avoid a lot of the noise and experience a more local vibe while being close enough that it was only a few minutes to walk to 5th if you wanted that experience. Third, wifi was good during my stay. Finally A/C worked fine and blew cold which was an absolute must given one of the negatives.

I can honestly say I don't think I have ever stayed anywhere on the 3rd floor of a property with bars on the window. I appreciate security, and given the locking metal gate you have to go through to enter the property I would hope this would be enough but apparently not. Both the bedroom and bathroom do not have proper windows. They have vents with chicken wire over them and a screen over that but no glass or other means to close them. This has the unfortunate side-effect of letting a lot of that cool A/C air out and a lot of noise in. I can't imagine this is good for their electricity bill and it certainly was annoying to be woken on a Saturday in the morning from all the construction going on next door. The bed felt like a box spring with a thin 1" topper on it which when I pulled back the sheets to check appears to essentially what it was. To say it was "firm" was an understatement. Finally, it is clear that they do clean the units, but it is a surface cleaning. There was a substantial collection of what appeared to be mold in one of the bathroom lighting fixtures and the shower doors had a lot of water staining, etc. in addition to a very rusty shower caddy which definitely added some ambiance I suppose. I took pictures of all of this which unfortunately Booking.com doesn't provide a way to post to validate everything above. It's really a shame because I think most of these things could be addressed with very minimal cost to the owners and it would be a lot more pleasant place to stay. I stayed a week, but wouldn't stay there again in its current state.
