Holiday Inn Express Munich - City East by IHG

The location for my needs was excellent. The breakfast was good: would have liked more vegetables. And would have liked breakfast to extend to 10:30am

There were places where I noticed it was not so clean.

Hotel is priced exactly as it should. Rooms on the small side but clean and very quiet. Access is fine. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast is ok, more than enough for us and for the price. Wifi was fine. Overall a nice choice.

Location is a bit far from city and the bus outside does not head to center. You have to walk a bit for tram, not very ideal if you travel with children.

Very easy to connect to Marienplatz or Central Station. Beds and pillows are comfortable.

Definitely needs an upgrade. The carpets in the passage are faded and stained. The bathroom has a terrible damp smell and is not maintained. The tap was loose. The showerhead had mildew. The shower doors need a good clean. And the water never reaches a temperature that is hot enough to feel refreshed (in my opinion, at least). I get that the rooms are cleaned once every 2 days, and I don't mind that. But the dirty cups are not replaced with clean cups, and the teabags/coffee are not restocked. Breakfast was dismal for a vegan (despite me volunteering this information at the outset). Having stayed at Hilton Garden Inn before this, I can say that this is a subpar breakfast offering. At least I could piece together sufficient sides at the Hilton to make a decent vegan breakfast. Here, I had a little oats, fruit, and tea before going to a bakery to get something substantial.
