The host was extremely friendly and happy to help, and the location was really good, as it was just a couple of minutes drive away from the main city of Madalena. It also had a supermarket and restaurant nearby, as well as local points of interest (Piscinas Naturas da Criação Velha). The place was also extremely spacious - especially for just a couple - with a fully-equipped kitchen, and a very comfy bed.
Given the age of the house, it was prone to having some bugs during Summer (e.g., lizards, house centipedes).
