Whale Watch Suite 5 at By the Waves has spectacular ocean views and is just 40 yards away from the popular stair-free, concrete city beach access that leads to miles of beach-combing to the north or to the south. This suite is on the 3rd floor and accommodates 3 with a queen bed with memory foam in the bedroom and a queen hide-a-bed in the living room.

Enjoy the breathtaking ocean views and soothing, outdoor shared hot tub, while staying here in historic Nelscott in Lincoln City, Oregon! The hot tub is right outside the door of this suite! There is a maximum potential of 3 other small parties using the hot tub alternately.

We strive to provide an affordable, comfy and clean coastal getaway for our guests.

We are pet-free.

Our lawn covered back yard with the 5 person, ocean view hot tub, BBQ Grill and lawn furniture, makes By the Waves the perfect place for families and couples alike. Along with the ocean views, our suite offers high speed internet, a gas fireplace, kitchen, cable TV, DVD, a small Mp3 compatible stereo, and quality towels and linens. We are walking distance to several top-notch restaurants and it's only a mile to the famous Lincoln City Outlet Mall.

The view from the property is awesome. Sunsets are spectacular and viewable right from the dining table. The bed and furniture is very comfortable. The whole unit is clean and fairly well maintained for an older building. While we did not use the hot tub, other guests did and it looked very nice. The overall process of reserving, follow up information and access is excellent.

This was our first time on the Oregon Coast. The place is conveniently located next to a beach access point. It has great views. It was a perfect place to stay while exploring the beach and all the other attractions of the central Oregon Coast.

This place felt like crashing at Granny’s, but without the awkward “why aren’t you married yet?” conversation. The place was clean, the view spectacular, and the furniture just dinged up enough that you aren’t afraid to make yourself at home. I loved the antique armoire in the bedroom and that I could throw the windows open and let in the ocean air. Lots of steps up to the door, which might make it hard for some people but was fine for me. The contactless check in was amazing. And when I had a question about check out the host got back to me quickly. 10/10 would stay again.

We were on the 3rd floor in unit 5 and had an amazing view of the ocean! The hot tub was so fun for us and our kids and there was an outside shower (with warm water!) to get all the sand off us to be ready to get in the hot tub, which was a nice surprise! It felt like we were at a family beach house. Cozy and familiar. Short walk to beach was great for our young kids! The little grassy backyard was a great little escape to read in the shade and for our kids to run around! Big beautiful windows let the sea breeze in and only downside was no screens in them. Only wish was for screens. *NOTE FOR PARENTS: no screens in windows our kids were not used to and our five year old lost a book out one of the windows. The stove and oven stopped working the second night and the hosts were quick to fix (it was a fuse box issue), the next morning it stopped again and another unit was avail for us to use its kitchen for breakfast. So thankful for quick and accommodating super hosts! Laundry on site and free was so great to have and helpful with young kiddos. The bed in the bedroom was comfy and our two kids (7 & 5) slept great! The hide-a-bed in the living-room was challenging for us parents to sleep on. Shared this with hosts and they were super responsive about finding a solution for that. We look forward to our next trip with an improved hide-a-bed. Hosts were so helpful with great communication! they were truly lovely people and with them on-site issues were taken care of instantly. We highly recommend this place if you don't mind two flights of outside stairs…its worth it for the view!

My husband and I stayed for a romantic getaway weekend, and it was perfect! The hot tub is communal, but there was never anybody in it when we used it, so it still felt private. The view of the ocean is amazing!! The bedroom was small, but the bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet and dark at night - a must for me, as a light sleeper. The beach access was literally across the street, which was very convenient! We would definitely stay, again!

We do agree with the other reviews, the unit could use some fresh paint and updating, if you want close access to the beach then this is your location. We spent minimal time in the unit because it felt uncomfortable due to its lack of updating and musty smell. Thanks much!

When you walked into the unit, half of the linoleum was missing. The furniture needed to be updated or at least, sanded and painted. A cover for the couch would have been nice. The pots and pans were old and had scratches while the coffee pot was dirty with the burner rusted. The oven was also dirty. When you looked between the wall and stove, it had not been cleaned in quite awhile. Lastly, it would have been nice to have new or updated towels to shower and wash dishes. It was nice to have a designated area for parking.

Not their fault but it was the biggest contributing factor for us choosing this location. We confirmed that it would be accessable and then a week before our visit the laws changed. An Amazing Getaway

An Amazing Getaway

A vacation to remember, and "By The Waves" was a huge part of our enjoyment. Unit #5 was clean and the check-in was easy. Connie was kind and made sure we were ready for our stay. The view was stunning and I took some of the best sunset pictures from the front windows. Doug offered us the use of a variety of beach gear and it was so quick to access the beach via the ramp across the street. We enjoyed the beach and town but having a nice place to take a break so close made it even better.

Really enjoyed staying here. It was very cozy yet comfortable. The flooring in the entryway at time of stay could have used some replacing so the door wasn’t loud when opening and the sofa bed has a broken piece which made it more difficult to fold out. There was great communication with the Property manager. Quiet time was understandable, yet one couldn’t even talk normal in the hot tub after 9:30 without being asked to be quiet. We would stay here again. The minor inconveniences in no way detracted from the rest of the conveniences! Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area.

The unit was very easy to access the beach and the hot tub was very nice. There are a lot of cosmetic updates that need to be done including replacing torn up flooring at the entrance and vintage hide-a-bed with a plywood support board. The owners were on-site and very friendly and generous with loaning dryer, boogie boards etc.

Very sweet hosts, apartment was simple but comfortable(would recommend a second recliner to replace the small cushioned chair in order for two people to comfortably sit in front of the window to watch the ochean). Great location, quiet, great view!

The only issue we had was the mold in the bedroom window. We couldn't stay in the room due to allergies to mold. Thankfully, the hide a bed was comfy and we slept to the sound of the waves.
