Missionshuset Bed & Breakfast was great! It's a small B&B, but it's large on comfort and charm. We arrived early (breakfast was still being served) due to our water taxi situation (see below on that). We intended to drop our backpacks off and go exploring, but our room was ready so we were allowed to check in - much appreciated! Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable - we enjoyed a quiet and relaxing stay. The showers/bathrooms were shared, but there were enough for the few number of guests so that was not an issue at all. Breakfast was included, and it was terrific - it had everything we could want, as well as some surprises. Sandhamn is like a picture book of houses - very pretty and each one unique. There's also a great trail for hikers. We arrived on a cold and rainy day (we stayed two nights and the following day was gorgeous) and booked ourselves into the spa at Sandhamn Seglarhotell - highly recommended.
The following is not a criticism of our accommodation – It’s information about traveling in the Archipelago in September. On September 1st, ferry travel becomes limited in the Archipelago. We planned to go to nine islands in nine days, arriving as early as possible, hiking the island, staying overnight, then repeating the next day. When we did our planning in June/July, the ferry routes made this look very doable. However, when we started on September 4th, we discovered that routes had been severely reduced, throwing our schedule out the window. We weren't happy. The other visitors/hikers/campers we met weren't happy. Our hosts weren't happy and they have been giving the government an earful about it to no avail. It was a mess. Fortunately, we were able to arrange for water taxis to get us to our next destinations. We eventually wound up needing four water taxis, which is a considerable expense, in addition to always wondering if one would even be available. We got lucky finding a taxi that was bringing passengers from Utö to Sandhamn (6000SEK) who took us back to Utö on his return trip for half-price. We loved the Archipelago. The islands and hiking were wonderful, but just be aware of the ferry situation. If you go in September, make sure you can get to where you want to go in a time you want to go. Alternatively, maybe stay two nights in each place so you'll have time to explore. But that said: SAT, be better!

Quaint island and a cozy B&B...everything was exactly as described in the listing. We rarely book places with shared bathrooms and were not bothered at all with this set-up. The place was full for the evening and we never had to wait for a bathroom or shower. It was very convenient, perfectly clean and wonderfully comfortable.

Clean and tidy. Breakfast was ok
Very expensive for a shared bathroom but quite adequate. Staff were helpful. Quite a way from the ferry if you had heavy luggage especially as the roads are gravel we were fine with backpacks. Felt they could offer a luggage transfer service as there is only 1 ferry a day at this time of the year . Not very secure as people who were not staying there seemed to have been invited in. Everything was clean and tidy but rustic. Beds were only adequate. No curtains which affected my sleep. Sort of like a hostel but much more expensive.
