Great place for a family holiday, well looked after, lovely owner, attractions within easy reach

Although during our 8day stay we never saw either the owner or her caretaker we never felt left alone or not taken care of in case something might not have been in order. Arrival / handover of keys was well prepared and thought through (safe key box at the front door, a caretaker had been in the house hours before our arrival to set the heating and even switch on some lights for us to find the house more easily etc etc). We had been in very friendly touch with the owner via phone / text messages and felt she was very caring and wanted her guests to feel well. Upon first entry we felt at home immediately. The house has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Lots of IKEA stuff but arranged and decorated in a very thoughtful and charming way. The pictures on booking.com correspond in full to reality as we saw it. The kitchen is well equipped, we had real cooking sessions and meals for 7 people with crockery and cutlery in style. No need to bring anything extra. We just moved in and home life started right away. The outside terrace is lovely, we sat there a great deal and enjoyed it very much.

The house is very charming indeed however not spacious. When fully booked with 8 people as advertised it easily gets crammed. Two out of four bedrooms are tiny, one is small, the forth one is good. All in all very little storage place für luggage or personal items. As we were travelling light we did not mind. Life takes place in the kitchen/living room area on the ground floor or out on the terrace when the weather is friendly. The upper floor is used for sleeping only. Although it had certainly not been intentional we learnt after arrival that the fireplace in the living room is currently out of order due to maintanance. Electric heaters make fully up for that in terms of warmth. We were a little disappointed though as we had been looking forward to sitting round a cozy fireplace in the evenings, watching the dancing flames and enjoying the sound of burning and crackling wood logs ;-). All in all a minor downside, given the great time we had in this house and the loveliness of its owner.

Great house, great location and friendly host!

It was very easy to communicate with Ester and her house lady, Marit. The whole experience was very pleasant, and we felt very welcome and good taken care of. The neighbors were also very friendly, and gave us interesting information about Sundklakk and places to visit. All in all, a great place to stay.

Great house at a fantastic location.

This is a beautiful house with a modern interior. Very luxurious. Excellent location with nice views in 3 directions through large windows. Despite the less-than-perfect weather, we had a wonderful time and make great pictures and videos of the amazing landscape in the area.

The weather :) It is quite unpredictable at the Lofoten. Lots of rain and wind. But inside the house it was very comfortable.
