Great location and an exceptionally helpful and caring host who went out of her way to welcome us and make sure that we had everything we might need.

Perfect location - easy to walk to anything in the heart of Tavira and so peaceful at night. Plenty of space for our family of 5. Maria was wonderful. We fell in love with Tavira and were so lucky to stay at this fantastic property!

We loved everything about the property

The accommodation is in a quiet street very near the centre, so the location is really good. The quiet ends at seven in the morning though when a nearby church clock strikes seven times. The owner is a very friendly, helpful woman who has a shop nearby. She gave us early checkin and late checkout and advised us on parking.

There were a few things: First, the „house“ (first floor, second floor, attic, patios) is much smaller than stated (169 sqm). The three bedrooms are all small, about 10 sqm each, with little closet space. The living room is long and narrow and far from spacious, too. To sit and eat you would go out to the nice patio which has a table for six. Second, the front door would only snap, you could not turn the key around to lock it nor was there any device to lock it from inside to make you feel safe. Third, the description for the property claimed to have a bidet in the bathroom, but that is not the case. It seems the owner has deleted that entry in the meantime but I made a screenshot. Fourth, lack of privacy: The curtains in the living room are see-through, so at dark you can be watched from the window opposite which is just three or four meters away one floor above. The owner says that some relatives lived there. Fifth, the advertised second bathroom was locked when we came, the owner gave us the key on request. It can only be accessed from the patio so it feels like in another, adjacent building, where you have to walk down some stairs as you enter. Sixth, the bath tub couldn’t be used as a bath tub as a plug was missing. Upon our request the owner provided a plug the next day, same with shower products which were not there when we came. We asked the owner for a partial refund in view of all this, especially the incorrectly stated size, the missing bidet and absence of a door lock, but this request remained unanswered.
