About this cottage rental

Smugglers Cottage has been completely renovated to a very high standard and has two bedrooms sleeping four people. This magical cottage enjoys open plan living and a private garden with stunning views of the River Fowey and the pretty Town. For those colder times of year, curl up on one of the sofas, by the lovely log burner. Free logs are included. Watch the river and relax in the landscaped, sunny garden, with a small ornamental pond, is ideal for al fresco dining or chilling out. The kitchen with its range style cooker has everything you need from a home from home including a Nespresso machine. The reclaimed pew and chairs in the dining area is the perfect space for enjoying meals. The bedrooms are furnished with lovely bedsteads, luxury matresses and 100% cotton bed linen. Relax at the Juliette Balcony in the Master bedroom and watch the ships go by. Take time out in the beautiful bathroom with bath, feature shower and tumbled glass pebble tiles, there is in addition a conveniently located additional downstairs toilet. Smugglers Cottage is perfect for relaxing and provides an ideal base for exploring this very special part of Cornwall. Cottage is absolutely first class. Absolutely spotlessly clean. Every amenity you could possibly want including dishwasher and washing machine. Beds very comfortable with beautiful linen. Owner was contactable. No faults at all. I can totally recommend it.

This cottage is ideally located for exploring Cornwall and the surrounding area. The walk into the center is steep but short. Great little shops and lots of bars and restaurants round off the holiday perfectly. The ferries to Bodinnick and Polruan run at short intervals and enable wonderful circular walks. Be sure to hike the Coastpath to Lantic Beach, visit the Eden Project (be sure to do the roof tour!) and also walk the Saint Way to Golant. We can highly recommend Fowey and the cottage.

The cottage is beautiful, very clean and well furnished. A short walk down into Fowey & (as others have said) a very steep walk back up! The cottage was an excellent base to explore the area with Charlestown, Mevagissey etc not far away. As we normally visit the north coast we did find ourselves drawn back to the north coast beaches for the waves & bodyboarding. However, the beaches nearby (Readymoney cove in Fowey) & Polkerris (10 mins drive) were great for families with small children. We had originally planned to take our dog as the cottage is advertised as dog friendly but we were glad we didn’t as the garden would not have been very practical with no grass & a low wall at the end which our dog could easily have jumped. Apart from that no negatives at all, we really enjoyed our stay!

As soon as we arrived at Smugglers Cottage we knew we were going to have a fantastic week. The cottage has everything you need, the beds are comfortable and the views are incredible. Fowey has lots to offer, great pubs and restaurants, our favourites the Ship Inn, Havener’s and Bufala. The ice cream at Rubys was also a favourite of ours. We definitely want to come back again.

Comfortable cottage. Excellent view over the estuary and well designed small garden and nice patio to view it from. The cottage was clean and had all you needed. We found it a little cramped in the living area and the bathroom. Highlights of our week were our several boat trips, scrumptious meals out and day trips to Eden and Heligan.

This is a great little cottage. V cosy and v comfortable. V helpful owner and good feeling, wifi was good and access easy, good kitchen equipment and bedding. Some suggestions for consideration: the information book is out of date and is missing some important details eg how to operate the TV, there was no or not much cleaning, dishwashing, dishwasher, washing machine materials for long stays, no mop for floors, little material on Fowey and surrounds (eg maps, information, etc) but overall it was very good

Smugglers Cottage has all you would need for a comfortable stay. Very clean and welcoming so pleased in all respects. The view from the garden is lovely and sitting outside on a sunny day is special. Fowey is very hilly so you need to be prepared for that, although there is a Town Bus which takes you around town if required.

I loved everything about the cottage: its incredible views and proximity to the chiming church bells, being in the heart of Fowey and being a resident, the cosey layout of the living area, the beautiful bathroom, the simplicity and comfort of the bedrooms, the extra loo!, the recycling system of coloured bags, being near the bus stop.

Fowey is a great place for a holiday, and this cottage is cosy, comfortable and well equipped. It was super clean and I’m sure in the summer it’s nice to sit out on the terrace and watch the world go by down below. You have to park the car in a nearby car park but this is the case with most places in Fowey.

We stayed in Smugglers Cottage for a week with our Grandson. The cottage was beautiful, everything you could possibly need and spotlessly clean. The beds were soooo comfy. The views were magnificent forever changing and we were so lucky to see the largest Clipper berthed just in front of the cottage and the next day a cruise ship. Ali & Pete were excellent and had thought of everything to make our stay a fabulous vacation. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone for a great holiday - also so much to do in and around Fowey so hardly any driving involved which was great.

Smugglers was sparkling clean and very comfortable. Lovely views sitting on the little patio In the garden for lunch or drinks. Kitchen and bathroom facilities were excellent. Quiet neighbourhood above the town with very comfortable beds meant we slept like logs!

The cottage is cosy, comfortable, very well equiiped and perfectly situated to burn off a few calories after (another) cream tea! The views of the estuary from the back bedroom are ever changing. Beware the church bell that tolls every 15mins, night and day - though I enjoyed it and slept easily with it in the background. Choose the front bedroom if you'd prefer to give this experience a miss :) We had some fantastic walks, food at Sam's on the Beach in Polkerris was a highlight. And Ali was brilliant to communicate with. Highly recommended.

This cottage is a little star with the most awesome pretty views over Fowey. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful offering her help and advice. We were so happy we chose Fowey as our base as it’s the prettiest village with a great range of bars and restaurants and surrounded by fab walking routes. Can’t rate it highly enough.
