Waipara River Estate

What a gem. We were a group of two couples travelling through the wine region and this suited us perfectly. Beautiful individual apartments with large bathrooms and good kitchen facilities - nicer than the photoes. Plus there is a separate BBQ pergola on the property. Central location for spending time in the wine region and this accommodation then is a quite, quality retreat at the end of the day. The owner introduced herself and was very helpful. Breakfast provisions provided were excellent with a few nice extras such as stewed fruit and biscuits to go with the plunger coffee. Would stay again.

Could have used a bit more lighting at the BBQ pergola at night.

One of the best stays we’ve ever had - lovely touches like a charcuterie board to greet us, fantastic breakfast supplies, brand new bikes to explore vineyards, lovely fluffy towels.

New owners, but lovely and did all the same wonderful things as previous reviews - complementary breakfast and bottle of wine. Loved the room and the grounds. A perfect stay. Thanks so much x

It was excellent.

This is a truly peaceful retreat in the middle of the vines. In the loft we felt as though we were the only people staying, although we know there were other guests also enjoying their vacation. Brian is an excellent host and while we were sorry to learn that he is selling the property, it’s good to know that the new owners will continue building on the legacy he leaves behind. The property is in the middle of nowhere, but if you like to walk or cycle then getting to Waipara and some of the local vineyards is no issue at all. We had a wonderful stay, it was excellent to be able to unplug and recharge our mental batteries.
