B&B Villa Rosa

Great location and comfort room . Very good breakfast

It's a nice B&B with very few rooms. Its highlight was the breakfast with views to the sea, with a variety of bread/croissant, plus sweet stuff, eggs and fruits. It was an old house but we didn't feel the other guests. The place had plenty of parking for the guests. The location was walking distance from the beach and the town center, plus walkable from the train station (enough that we went to visit Palermo by train instead of taking the car).

It's walkable to the city center/beach, but take into account is a bit steep. For us it was absolutely fine though and we didn't take out the car during our stay (no need and we save the hassle of finding parking at town), but I would avoid coming here with mobility issues (unless you plan to use the car to move everywhere of course).

Great view and good location. Felt like a home and peaceful

The owner, Dario, is very nice, helpful and friendly. The location is good, although a steep uphill walk back to the B&B on a road with no pavement was tricky - especially in the heat! The terrace is a lovely place to have breakfast as the views are gorgeous and there are trees and flowers all around. Breakfast was really nice and offered enough choice for us. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 20 minute walk to the old town. Cefalu is beautiful - so much nicer than we had expected! The old town is pretty and has a nice atmosphere.

We feel bad leaving negative points as the owner is so accommodating and nice, but the accommodation was, unfortunately, really disappointing. There was absolutely no soundproofing between the rooms. We could hear the people in the room next door coughing and moving around and dogs barking outside. We could also hear the room doors bang shut each time someone arrived or left their room. The mattresses were incredibly uncomfortable - very hard, with squeaky springs (we tried putting blankets under the base sheets, but it didn't really help much!). Unfortunately, we hardly slept whilst staying here. The bed sheets were very old, and tatty. Some had holes, and one was torn at the side. There was no space in the room to open our luggage (we are a family of three) as the room was so small. The shower cubicle was really tiny (we are not large people!) and mouldy at the base. There was no kettle in the room to make tea or coffee (we have always had this in other B&Bs). The little mini fridge wasn't very cold either. Had we known these facts, we wouldn't have stayed here. It's a shame to say this because the location is perfect. If Dario could invest a little money to update this B&B, it could be an amazing place to stay.
