Feels like a true family hotel
Super friendly staff that ensure everything is OK, from arriving to you are leaving. Room was nice and well maintained, and breakfast was just perfect for us. Good location right outside city centre. Dinner at the restaurant was really good.

The Hotel du Large was not named after the size of their rooms this is one of the smallest hotel rooms I have ever had and I booked a superior plus room but there was nothing superior about it. Despite the website which states the restaurant is open 7 days a week it was not and due to a Sunday booking was the main reason I booked this hotel. 30 minutes after we checked in the hotel was locked up so basically we had a room with no facilities (No Bar, No restaurant and No Lounge. The room was very basic with one very hard chair and the bathroom smelt of stagnant water due to walk in shower leaking onto the whole floor. The room was clean but that’s about it. The Breakfast was expensive for what was on offer.

The hotel was informed at time of booking that one person needed a gluten-free diet. However, there was no provision for this, no g-f. bread available at breakfast. Even though there was a supermarket nearby which sold it - where we were told we could buy some. Coffee machine in dining room didn't have adequately boiling water for tea. Minimal selection of teabags - no herbal teas, except green tea. No staff seemed to speak any English. Hotel is suitable for French speakers only.
