Hotel Satkar Residency - Riverside Old Manali

Room was very comfortable with balcony area atmosphere is adorable.

It's extremely better keep it up I can say.

It has the basics: bed with warm blankets, hot (Indian) shower (=bucket), food, a roll of toilet paper and two packages soaps. The staff were friendly.

Spotty WiFi. You need to pay 500Rs per night for a heater that didn’t do much (the windows are really drafty). We gave it back after one night after we realized it was useless. Although staff were friendly, they didn’t know too much about the town (we asked several questions that they didn’t have answers to. Most importantly we had asked about trekking, they said everything was closed due to winter, though we found out it wasn’t). Old Manali is stoner central, and it was hard to find a place to get dinner that wasn’t shady, or where we weren’t offered drugs. We ended up getting tuk-tuks to the mall rd area where things were much more reputable. We had breakfast in the restaurant twice (it was open earlier than other places in the area). Again, basic. Nice staff, okay food, it looked like the tables had layers of dust all over them that never got wiped off. If I were to do it again I would stay closer to mall rd and pay a little more for some comforts.
