The staff spoke English and made the check in process very easy, The room was quite spacious and left plenty for three adults too move around easily. The bathroom was quite spacious and even though was a shared space had plenty of room for changing and included basic amenities such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The staff also accommodated for our ski equipment and aloud us to keep it in the hallway inside the accommodation. The room has a heater and good insulation so you're unable to hear the neighbors. In a great location too see the otaru canal

Wish there was a tap in the room for basic things like drinking water and brushing teeth, this is a minor inconvenience though.

The sound proof is very bad. I could hear what other people were doing: going to the bathroom, closing the doors, going up stairs, kids running around, people taking in the next room, people walking in the lobby. The bed is too soft so it's not comfortable. The back was not on a straight on a surface so you may get back and neck pain. The room does not have ventilation so when you close all the doors, it feels suffocated. I had to open the window but it didn't feel safe when you opened the window at night. The air conditioner is very old, noisy and strange. Because there is no air ventilation, I turned on the AC but it made a big noise so I turned it off. The room rent is expensive for a person given all the facilities and conditions. To be honest, some other hostels I have stayed in are better such as Grids Sapporo and Tomar in Furano. This hostel is more like a family business.
