VIKSI hostel

Wifi was good. Room was comfy. The person we met who was cleaning (maybe one of the owners?) was very sweet and cleaned up after messy guests first thing in the morning. They were VERY helpful with luggage storage and let us go in early. Very good location right on the water.

A group of boys stayed and left a huge mess every time they went out (beer cans, food wrappers) like it was their apartment. This was cleaned up the next morning so management is good about keeping up, but it did feel like it was the other guests place that we were crashing. There are very long instructions to find the keys and self enter, and when I asked a simple and polite question about not seeing the entry, I got sort of a flippant/rude answer saying that I must be tired and no one else has problems. I understand people probably ask annoying questions all the time, but businesses dont have to make people feel stupid - but maybe a language/translation/culture difference.

Positioned right where you want to be in the city! The facilities were very clean and well maintained.

Nothing not to like! Although warning for summer there is only a fan in the room, so an aircon would be useful to install.

Bathrooms, room etc were clean. Great location.

We were asked to send identification details to a 'no reply' email, or using the app, which doesn't work. This then meant we hadn't been provided the key safe code and had to phone, phone again, all of which took a while (after a day hiking in the mountains). Then the room had only the double bed prepared (as we booked for two), despite being a triple. It should have been obvious we needed two beds or we'd have booked a twin.
