Canal Cottages

Conveniently positioned in close proximity to the M40. Met family for a lovely Sunday lunch in their restaurant. Very friendly staff and lovely outside seating overlooking the canal. Room comfortable and clean.

Shame breakfast only available at weekends.

Only the door handle of courtyard 3 was not working properly making locking and opening tricky

Loved the room. With its private area in front and over looking the canal. The staff were fantastic and the food in the restaurant was also good.

The door was hard to close but I am guessing that was down to the heat last week.

Location of room through outside drinking area. Arriving on a Friday afternoon there were several groups of men, it was hot so they had no shirts on which wasn’t pleasant As a woman I felt intimidated having to squeeze between them with my case while they were smoking and drinking and looking us up and down. The room was sold as air conditioned. Unfortunately it only had a noisy portable air conditioning unit which is designed for a much smaller space. The room stayed unbearably hot all night despite us leaving the aircon on while we went out. We opened the doors and one small window when we got back. We appreciate we were staying during the hottest weekend of the year, but feel we were mid sold on the air conditioning statement - the unit wasn’t fit for purpose in a bedroom.
