Strawberry Fields

This hotel was in such a beautiful and scenic location, everything important to us (the aquarium, beach, shops) were all within walking distance- the beach being just around the corner!! Its tucked away from the city centre, so thankfully you couldn't hear any of the hustle and bustle at night. As far as the rooms, it did the job. It was rustic, but a little shabby around the edges, but overall it was nice enough. The beds were comfortable, I had a lovely night's sleep. Theres wardrobe space and drawer space, which we took use of. We were given teas and coffees, along with a kettle which was a nice touch. We did have a tiny issue with locking the door, the plate of the lock was loose and catching, meaning we struggled to lock it. But we fixed it successfully not long after. The member of staff behind the desk at the time spotted us struggling a bit and did help- I apprechiate that!! There was wifi too. It wasnt the quickest but it did its job. There is also a luggage hold, which is extremely helpful. The staff members throughout were absolutely lovely, very welcoming and very helpful. Whilst its very different to large hotel chains, this hotel was super nice and exceeded expectations- we 100% would stay again.

It was in a very convenient place near the beach and the staff were lovely.

Our room lacked any strawberry decor and the parking charges were IMMENSE.

Location is great and a short walk to cafes, restaurants and a little further to the pier The twin room was clean although there was a smell when we arrived which disappeared once the window was left wide open. The meet and greet on arrival and departure was superb and very accommodating when we asked for a fan for the room. The shower was also very powerful. There was a kettle with water, coffee and tea bags milk jiggers and sugar.

Struggled to find Power sockets to charge mobile phones and a real lack of USB portals, there wasn't any. The furniture in the room was old could do with a refresh. The floorboards on the stairwell creeked alot and was noisy and disruptive. The noise from other guests after having a late night on the town was not favourable so much so I slept approx 30mins on Friday night. Saturday night was slightly better but not much better. The room didnt look anything like those on the website which sets an expectation which can often disappoint guests of the reality. All that is needed is a little more tlc and attention to detail. Would I stay there again 🤔 sorry its a no for me.
