Tizourgane Kasbah

Well it’s a castle or Kasbah what can I say. This is what you go for, wandering around after hours.

If it’s really hot weather I’m sure it’s lovely but otherwise it’s really cold and like other reviews say the blankets are sooo heavy. The water is cold but it’s too cold to have a shower anyway and the food is really expensive although good.

This Kasbah is very special! The architecture of this 800 year old castle and the amazing details of the renovation of the structure, are outstanding. If you are looking for an authentic experience in a beautiful and traditional Amazigh Kasbah, this is the way to go! The location is beyond beautiful with amazing views onto the valley and mountains. The rooms are basic but comfortable with authentically renovated wood-beam and plaster ceilings and walls. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The meals offered in the restaurant are very good, the roof terrace is a wonderful spot to enjoy a traditional breakfast with Omlette-Berber, moroccan pancakes and everything else you might want for. I definitely recommend a stay!

Perhaps a little warmer

Beautiful aesthetic and location was great for climbing on the north side of Anti-Atlas. The reception reimbursed us somewhat as we left a day early due to the very cold rooms with no heating and cold showers.

The showers were cold despite doing the work arounds they recommended to get them hot. Unfortunately that’s difficult if there are other people staying there as you have “take in turns”. Also no heating in the rooms which meant we were sleeping fully clothed under the blankets as the temperature in the rooms was around 4-5 degrees. Food is very expensive compared to the region, roughly double the price for the basic choice of the region. We often drove an hour to tafraote to eat instead
