Exceptional hospitality and comfort — 5 Camp Street made our Cape Town trip unforgettable!

We had a wonderful stay at 5 Camp Street Guest House! Emmy is an excellent host — warm, attentive, and full of great recommendations. She shared fantastic dining options, hiking trails, and sightseeing tips in and around Cape Town, ensuring we made the most of our visit. She even upgraded us to a spacious double-room bungalow, which was such a pleasant surprise. The guest house itself is spotless — clean in every corner with crisp white linen, immaculate bathrooms, and all the amenities a couple or family would need for a comfortable multi-day stay. The location is perfect, just 10–15 minutes from most major attractions, with many great restaurants and cafés within walking distance. Would absolutely love to stay here again on our next visit to Cape Town!

Great location for walking to restaurants and supermarket. Did not use local transport as we had our own car. Very central to all places we wished to visit. Our host Emmy gave us all the help and information we needed for our touring.

Emmy is a very friendly hostess at the hospital. She was always quick to respond to our questions and provided very helpful recommendations for places to visit and things to do. This is a spacious and comfortable apartment that is very clean and equipped with everything you need. The location is safe and great, within walking distance to the shops and restaurants of popular Kloof Street. It is also easy to get to everywhere by Uber. We all are really enjoyed and will stay here again next time.

The host, Emy was brilliant, advising on Cape Town travel and sites. The facility was perfect with plenty of space, two large bedrooms, an exceptionally good lounge and a fully fitted kitchen. The location could not be better, close to Kloof Street, our teenage (18) son and his friend were able to walk out in the evening and go to pubs and clubs on their own.

Friendly, spacious and well located

Beautiful spacious accommodation superbly located within walking distance of shops and around 50(!) restaurants in popular Kloof Street, and local attractions are easily accessible. There is safe off-street parking, ad a handy communal lounge to get coffee, water wine etc. Emmy is a warm and hospital hostess who shared tips on where to go and things to do.

There’s free wifi but it didn't always work very well and kept losing connectivity.

Emmy was a great host & gave us lots of advice on what to do around Cape Town. Lovely spacious poolside 3-bedroom property close to restaurants & off road secure parking. Honesty var / fridge useful for drinks too.

Wonderful,

Very welcoming, beautiful apartment, the bed was exceptionally comfortable, location was excellent. There are many excellent restaurants nearby. We could easily walk to the city center but Uber also came immediately when we needed it. The owner, Emmy greeted us every day and asked about what we did; we really appreciated her genuine interest. She also provided a wealth of information about we should see and do and about safety. We stayed here on first arrival in S. Africa and our stay was a lovely introduction. We would absolutely recommend this guest house.

I don't think we could have found a better place to stay, even at a much higher cost; it's superb.

Our host Emmy was phenomenal. Wonderful communication prior to check-in, including taking our grocery order so that our unit could be stocked when we arrived. Wow! She was incredibly helpful with travel logistics, organizing a driving tour for our last day before heading to the airport, and researching/advising on how much we should pay an Uber driver who offered to drive us on a surprisingly sunny arrival day. She also kept us well-informed and made a back-up plan to address the unexpected bursting of our hot water heater just prior to our arrival, even waiving our grocery charges for our inconvenience (and we still had wonderful hot showers after repairs were completed). The place itself is utterly charming, with old and traditional architectural details left intact. Very spacious, quiet, private, safe, and in a perfect location for walking to dinner or "downtown"…everything we could have wished for.

The lighting was a bit difficult to read by, but that is not unusual for hotels or other tourist accommodations around the world (I've been in nearly 60 countries). That's a very picky comment, and I can't state enough how remarkably impressed and pleased we were with our stay at this lovely place.

Staying in this accommodation was a complete hit . It simply cannot get better. Emmy is incredibly friendly, at the beginning she tells everything one needs for Capetown, the location of the apartment is ideal, close to the center and ma ny restaurants. It is 10 minutes to Tabka mountain, on the terrace swimming pool with a beautiful view of Lion's head.Highly recomended.
