    President Hotel Hakata is in between Hakata and Gion Station. there's lots of nice cafes and restaurants nearby the hotel. breakfast at the hotel lobby (¥***) also came highly recommended. like the Chinese idiom 麻雀虽小，五脏俱全 (má què suī xiǎo, wǔ zàng jù quán). though the room small in scale but completely equipped with everything it needs.

    If you dont smoke, you may not book this hotel. They accept the e-cigarette in room, so it really smells. The room is also a bit old-dated so it cannot remove the smell properly. Apart from this, the others are fine. The room rate is quite high compared to other cities, even Tokyo. Maybe because I was at Fukuoka right in the weekend of Obon holiday.
