Everything was good , rooms , food , staff . The prices of the food and particularly the drinks I found very expensive .

Gorgeous hotel, superbly located. Friendly and attentive staff. Spotlessly clean, quiet, peaceful. A wonderful place for your first night in Delhi to wind down and relax. Delicious buffet, if a bit expensive. Special mention to Sudhanshu, Aryan and Rohit for their kind service. We would definitely come back!

The Shangri-La Eros New Delhi is a truly impressive property, and the level of investment in the hotel is immediately apparent from the moment you arrive. The building itself feels grand and well maintained, and the quality of the facilities reflects the hotel’s premium positioning within the city. The gym is a standout feature. It is spacious, modern, and exceptionally well equipped, easily comparable to high-end standalone fitness clubs rather than a typical hotel gym. The spa and pool areas are equally impressive, offering a calm, luxurious environment that provides a genuine sense of escape from the pace and intensity of New Delhi. These spaces are beautifully presented and clearly well cared for, making them a real highlight of the stay. Breakfast at the Tamra buffet was generally a strong offering. The range of food available caters well to both international and local tastes, and when the buffet was at its best, the quality and presentation were excellent. On those mornings, breakfast felt relaxed, indulgent, and very much in line with what one would expect from a Shangri-La property. Overall, the hotel itself is a fantastic establishment with high-quality amenities, generous public spaces, and a clear sense of investment throughout. When the experience comes together well, the Shangri-La Eros New Delhi delivers the comfort, luxury, and refinement that the brand is known for.

I feel compelled to comment specifically on the Front of House service, as it significantly detracted from what should otherwise be a premium hospitality experience. While I appreciate the intention behind attentive service, the execution here felt intrusive rather than welcoming. On several occasions while dining, I experienced staff standing nearby and watching while I ate. As a Western guest, this created an uncomfortable atmosphere and removed any sense of privacy or relaxation. Dining should feel unhurried and discreet; instead, it felt observed and pressured. Service speed was also inconsistent. Orders took longer than expected, and requesting the bill required anticipation well in advance, with waits of up to fifteen minutes. In a hotel of this calibre, the guest should not have to manage the timing of basic service functions. Staff attitude is difficult to ignore, but the greater issue was the constant interruption. There was frequent checking-in, unnecessary hovering, and repeated engagement when none was required. Hospitality should adapt to guest preferences, and in this case, a quieter, more hands-off approach would have been far more appropriate. The hotel also appears significantly overstaffed. While I understand the cultural and economic context, this excess did not translate into better service. Instead, it resulted in inefficiency, duplication, and a sense of being monitored rather than supported. Better utilisation and clearer role boundaries would greatly improve the guest experience. I should note that I have travelled to India more than thirty times and have previously stayed at Shangri-La properties, including this one. This makes the experience particularly disappointing, as it was unlike anything I have encountered here before. There was a persistent and difficult-to-define sense of discomfort throughout the stay.
