Thalazur Saint Jean de Luz - Hôtel & Spa

Our stay at Thalazur Saint Jean de Luz was exceptional from start to finish. The hotel is beautifully designed, impeccably maintained and perfectly located with stunning views of the ocean. The rooms were spacious, modern, bright and extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax from the moment we arrived. The spa facilities were absolutely fantastic. The indoor seawater pool, wellness area and relaxing atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind, and everything was spotless and beautifully presented. The staff were outstanding throughout our stay warm, welcoming, professional and genuinely attentive. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and their friendly service really made our visit special.

Materials about the spa were only written in French. Staff in the spa classes, very unfriendly, not helpful, never smiled and generally unpleasant

The location was convenient. The rooms were well designed.

I booked a twin room for my daughter 25 and my son 20. The confirmation did not mention the beds so I wrote an email to request again separate beds for my adult children. When we arrived they had put them in a double room! It took a long time to sort out and was a compromise. Our own “superior” room was tiny. The gym did not open until 8.30 am so we could not use it before breakfast. The weights were in a locked room so my son could not use them. My husband was aggressively and rudely refused entry to the spa because he was wearing swimming trunks. As a man in his sixties he is not comfortable wearing skimpy tight speedo style trunks. The bar was full of large groups of people making so much noise it was unpleasant to stay. It is too small for the number of people in the hotel, as is the reception where there were often not enough staff and long waits to check in and out, etc. This was particularly annoying as the weather was bad almost our whole stay and there was nowhere else in the hotel to go. The television did not have a single channel in English. There was no bed and breakfast rate available so breakfast for 4 nights would have cost 352 euros! We went to various cafés around the hotel to avoid the excessive charge. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but the cups kept being taken away and not replaced. Sometimes the tea and coffee were not replenished. A small thing, but all part of a very disappointing stay. St Jean de Luz is a lovely place and there are many better hotels there than this one!
