Lovely hotel excellent location

Loved the location of the property, not too close and not too far away from the centre of Gloucester. It had its own private car park which was an added bonus. Hotel room was nice and big. Hotel was in a quiet area. Breakfast was superb

Excellent location, good breakfast and comfortable

The location was excellent and a short walk to the city centre. There was a microwave and fridge in the room and plates and cutlery downstairs with a lounge if you. Wanted to bring food in.

My dislike is purely personal but I found the pillows a bit hard. However, it did not detract from the positives

Great value, great location, great room.

Convenient location for station, town and the rugby. Bed was comfortable and TV had Netflix and other streaming platforms. A lot of interesting pictures and information on the walls. Breakfast was very good value.

Can't think of anything, really. Perhaps the shower was a bit feeble, but it did the job.

Fantastic hotel, fantastic hosts.

Such a lovely hotel just outside the city, within a short walk to the centre of Gloucester. The hotel throughout was exceptionally clean and the bed very comfortable. What stood out the most was the wonderful hosts who, despite being busy, made sure we were well looked after. The breakfast was fabulous too! This is independently owned and as such, you get that extra touch of care and attention. A lovely property run efficiently and professionally by lovely hosts.

The only issue was how hot the room was at night with no heating on and the window open! Not sure what you can do about that though so just a minor thing!

Good location. Good for self catering.

Staff were helpful. We liked the location with walking distance to the town centre. Our twin room had a microwave and mini fridge. There is also a kitchenette near Room 23 for guests to use. It has a hob, toaster, fridge, freezer, plates, bowls etc. The parking is at the back of the hotel. Turn into Hyde Road and look for several small faded red and white parking signs for Edward Hotel. They are all positioned low on the brick walls.

Our twin room was on the 4th floor up in the attic space. The stairs were steep and narrow. The foliage at the front of the hotel is high and overgrown, so it's difficult to see the hotel name from the road.

It is a fantastic hotel with a personal touch

We met a very helpful staff Karen when we checked in and explained to her that we had to bring along our 20 years old daughter due to her university schedule. Karen was very kind to accommodate her by allocating a bigger room with an extra bed. The hotel is a pleasant surprise with all the nice historical photos of Gloucester city and the room is well equipped with the extra bonuses of a microwave oven and a fridge. A free car park on site makes it better. Great value for money. In conclusion, the Edward Hotel is a fantastic hotel with a personal touch. Thanks to Karen again, the kind lady.

Family brake

The lady who owns it was so polite and helpful when we arrived she moved my dad to a downstairs rm because he can't climb stairs. Where his rm was, there was a door to outside so he could leave his mobility scooter. Great place if u have a disability. Rm,s where great sizes add bonus there was a small fridge and microwave and good parking at the back.

There was nothing not to like would recommend this beautiful place and will come again.

Lovely hotel in a lovely city.

Really comforable bed in a quiet spacious room. Really good breakfast. The staff were lovely. Hotel literally minutes walk from city centre. They also have plenty of parking, which was a bonus.

Had a little bit of trouble getting the TV to work, it wasn't as easy as just switching it on. Some instructions in the room would have helped a pair of old techno phobes.

Good hotel, good facilities, Good Central location, great value

Cracking wee hotel in a central location with good facilities including fridge and microwave in room, never had the opportunity to have it with cup of coffee however nice touch with the oat milk which is a preference for me, first time in hotel I've seen this usually just the wee UHT milks

Nothing not like, however could be doing with a key drop was faffing about early morning wondering what to do with the key not keen on leaving door open in the case any damages happen while your no longer there

A most enjoyable short break.

The breakfast was good value, parking was free, keys to let yourself in and out, and only a short walking distance from the town centre. We would recommend to family and friends and definitely stay there again. Excellent bus service that runs to Cheltenham every 15 minutes, bus stop across the road from the Edward hotel.

Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend the Hotel to our friends.

We liked it's location as it was so close to the town and so close to the Wetherspoon! The main hospital was only five minutes walk away and a very big selection of the shops in the city centre and the cathedral.

We liked everything it was perfect! Breakfast was excellent. Anything we asked the staff they showed that nothing was to much trouble for them. The mattress on the bed was so comfortable that we asked the make of it and as we would like to buy ourselves one!

Family room was comfortable, clean, tidy and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was superb, setting you up well for the day ahead. Having a fridge was a bonus! Shower was great too, hot and powerful.

Great find

It was such an amazing find, we was greeted by a lovely lady who made us feel welcome straight away, who was also very helpful and knowledgeable around Gloucester. The hotel itself was also amazing with lovely pics of the history of Gloucester. Our room was a very nice size with our own microwave, kettle and TV.

I was able to deposit my bags at the reception before check in, and the breakfast was good value

Nobody cleaned the room. Fresh towels were left outside each day but how hard is it to turn down the bed, empty the rubbish and exchange the towels? If the option was available for that service, it was not made apparent at check in

Fantastic weekend Away in beautiful hotel

Lovely car park and outside sitting garden the owner was lovely and welcoming giving us a map and showing us how.to get to the.quays.for. dinner it was very clean and had lots of photos of Gloucester. Our room was lovely and had kettle and microwave in it. Tea and coffee biscuits and milk .a brilliant big fan to cool the room and lovely shower .I loved how.he left a box.with extra milk and biscuits towels outside.your door to respect your.privacy. and help the environment by only using.what we.needed I would definitely stay there again.

If I'm booking for the Gloucester area, this is my first port of call...

I have now stayed at this hotel four times in different rooms so this review is for all stays. 1. Free parking, very unusual in Gloucester, bonus point for that. 2. Very clean rooms and hallways. 3. Microwave and fridge in every room, if like me you're on a strict diet this makes life Much easier. 4. There is also a seperate kitchen you can use if you feel the need. 5. Lots of nice little touches in the room, tea, coffee kettle, biscuits, dishcloth and a small dish-soap dispenser. 6. The folk who own the place are very friendly and made me feel welcome and at home every time I visited.
