Hotel Casa Bahía Cozumel - Adults Only

The Staff are super professional and friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us.

Nothing to dislike.

Location, location, location! The hotel was as advertised being adults only and during our stay it was very quiet and we felt taken care of. When we arrived we didn’t like the room we booked and upgraded to the suite in the front of the hotel. The space was open and each area had everything we needed and felt very special. The rooftop bar and swimming pool sold us and didn’t disappoint. It would have been nice to have a hot tub available outside of the penthouse suite option.

Be aware that the bar/restaurant next to the hotel has live music every night. And the space next to the hotel is being renovated and there is construction happening near by. The rain shower faucet was great but the water temperature fluctuates often- be careful. The hallways were dark, the ambiance was nice but it made it hard to see as you try to get into your room. For only English speakers, we did have some times where there was an issue with the staff not understanding us or our requests. Most of the staff said they were new.

Suites Bahia has been closed for over a year - this is common knowledge and we should have read the reviews before booking. Booking.com are allowing them to continue advertising and in some ways it does allow you get a room at a more expensive hotel as they will give you a room at one of their "sister" hotels - Casa Mexicana or Suites Colonial Unfortunately for us we didn't get any of this information until after we arrived. Went to Bahia and a guy walking down the street told us it was closed and directed us to Mexicana. We waited for ages only to be told that we had to go to Colonial - in the opposite direction. There is no offer to help with bags or transport so you just have to walk between these hotels, thankfully we have good rolling suitcases but as we were dressed for a canadian winter we were pretty pissed ooff by the time we got to colonial, wonderfully the lift was broken so we also has to lug our cases up 3 flights of stairs We were told we had been messaged by Bahia to explain the situation - this was as we were checking in at 2.50pm, I received an email at 3.10pm 🙄 Room was fine and location great but breakfast is AWFUL, small plate of fruit with a teaspoon of yoghurt and granola, toast and scrambled eggs that seemed to have been cooked a week in advance. We had it on the first day and then opted to buy our own somewhere else
