Crowne Plaza Beijing Sun Palace by IHG

We had a fantastic stay at the Crowne Plaza Sun Palace Beijing and would happily return. The hotel is conveniently located for getting around Beijing, with Shaoyaoju Subway Station around a 12-minute walk away. Wangfujing is approximately 25 minutes away, and there are a couple of shopping malls nearby along with plenty of restaurants and food options. Our room was generously sized with great city views and was very comfortable throughout our stay. The gym was particularly impressive and one of the best-equipped hotel gyms we’ve used, with high-quality Technogym equipment, a Smith machine, dumbbells and kettlebells. Breakfast was very good, with a wide selection catering for different tastes, including plenty of Western options alongside local Chinese cuisine. What really made our stay memorable, however, was the exceptional service from the hotel staff. As first-time travellers to China, we really appreciated how welcoming and helpful everyone was. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and the service felt genuinely personalised. A special thank you to Bob, the Director of Rooms, who went above and beyond throughout our stay. Each day we returned to find thoughtful gifts waiting in our room, which was a lovely touch. His guidance, recommendations and helpful suggestions were truly appreciated and made our first experience of Beijing even more enjoyable. We’d also like to thank Eric, who was extremely helpful in assisting us with our onward travel arrangements to Shanghai. The facilities and location are excellent, but it’s the first-class service and personal touches that really set this hotel apart. Thank you to Bob, Eric and the whole team for making us feel so welcome. We would happily stay here again on our next visit to Beijing and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

We had an excellent stay at this 5-star hotel. The facilities are high quality, and the rooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The dining experience was another highlight, with two excellent Chinese restaurants and a very good Western restaurant, all offering high-quality food. The service was very good, with friendly and attentive staff. Special mention to Claudia, the manager, for her professionalism and helpfulness, and to the Western restaurant chef, whose food and attention to detail were outstanding. Overall, a hotel with quality facilities, immaculate and well-equipped rooms, excellent restaurants and very good service. We would definitely recommend it.

I flew via Hong Kong, from Colombo Sri Lanka to Beijing. It was almost 12 hours hours. The receptionist took 35 minutes to find me a room and said my two sons didn't have a reservation. Then, after speaking to someone, said yes, they found the reservation. I was given the room 1935, and my two sons were given right at the other end of the floor room no 1918.
