    I had booked Howard Johnson Paragon Hotel and a Chinese hotel at Wangfujing initially as I wasn't sure which hotel my family would like. In the end, I decided to go with Howard Johnson as it's an international hotel chain and my family would probably be more comfortable with the practices of such chain hotels, as compared to a Chinese hotel. No regrets with choosing this hotel. Though we checked in late, nearly midnight, when we thought that our room's aircon wasn't cool enough to sleep comfortably, the staff came to check on the aircon and offered us 2 aircoolers for our room which made a huge difference to the coolness in our room. Although our booking was without breakfast, we were told during check-in that if we decide to have breakfast, we can pay for the breakfast the night before and there will be a 30% discount off the original price. So this was what we did - breakfast spread was pretty good, The reception staff were all very helpful, especially Elsie who checked us in when we arrived. We will definitely choose to stay at Howard Johnson Paragon Hotel again should we return to Beijing for a holiday.

    Immediately next to Beijing Railway Station. There is a shuttle bus to/from PKX airport from next to the train station if you need it. Breakfast was very good.

    I believe this hotel needs total renovation especially the bathroom. The glass wall is very bad and the bathtub is so small. The drains are not good even the shower curtains in some rooms are short. Its really an old building but with room renovations it can become great again
