Hotel Roter Löwe

the staff and breakfast and the noise-proofing were all spectacular. I couldn't even hear the bells ringing and this is something in Ulm. Also they had shutters like anyone sensible must these days to deal with the heat and light. The ground floor restaurant and patio were great. Everyone was out there enjoying breakfast in the morning and beer in the evening.

There was no air conditioning, but I was there on the 3rd or 4th day of a spectacular heatwave and it wasn't THAT bad, at least not in my first floor room, so I would say this is no concern. I slept fine with the fan provided. The one thing is that they should have turned the swimming pool on the ground floor into a cold pool during the heat wave. Why have all that steam coming into a hotel?? This wasn't even a sauna, that was downstairs. They could have just turned off the heating on the pool and gone with the ambient temperature once that goes above 30C (it was 35C today!)

Good location, decent breakfast, room was nice enough, but not the best choice in hot weather as there was no air conditioning, just a fan, better than nothing, but it was a hot night. Internet barely worked at all, something I’d not be so bothered by usually if on holiday but on this occasion I actually needed it for unforeseen work purposes
