Hôtel Miléade L'Orangeraie - entièrement rénové

The location, walking distance from everything

Countless guests were reserving beds with their towels in the morning and would leave for hours. I know this isn’t necessarily a problem with the hotel but I do think there should be stricter rules around this because it’s unfair for everyone else wanting to enjoy the pool. It would be nice if you could use the spa without having to pay extra.

Staff on reception were a little bit curt , but could have been lost in translation .

Breakfast was not that good, need more variation.

More variation of the food.

Decent hotel in a good location. Attractive gardens out front, and a swimming pool area which is welcome during a heatwave. Rooms are a reasonable size, with a nice view out front. Some staff are excellent (the head of housekeeping, Maria I think), some are less so... Breakfast had a broad selection.

The first room we were given had broken AC and was stifling. The woman at reception was hopeless and said they couldn't change room so they gave us a portable AC unit with a hose sticking out the window. It didn't make any difference. Worse, I think the guy who brought it to the room was expecting a tip! We finally spoke with a fantastic staff member (Maria?), the head of housekeeping, who was incredibly efficient and managed to arrange a room with working AC. Once we had a decent room, the experience improved - but this is still a fairly standard hotel with uninspiring main areas. Pool area also doesn't have enough umbrellas or shaded spaces. I wouldn't stay here again.
