The hotel is dated but everything is in working order

I recently stayed there for 3 nights with my mom, and overall, it was a very good experience that offered great value for money.The location is fantastic, sitting close to main roads, shops, restaurants, and malls, while also being within comfortable walking distance to the MRT. The room itself was surprisingly spacious with very comfortable beds, reliable air conditioning, and a handy fridge. We also enjoyed the great facilities, including the outdoor pool and washing machine. Above all, the staff were exceptionally helpful and accommodating, even granting us a free early morning check-in which we truly appreciated after our trip.

The only minor drawback is that the hotel is noticeably aged, and the wear and tear is quite obvious in some areas. However, given the budget-friendly price point, this was entirely expected and fair. Overall, it's a solid, practical choice if you are looking for convenience and comfort without breaking the bank.

STAFF was very helpful. ROOM was a decent size for the price and location. LOCATION (Geylang, near Katong) was excellent, adjacent to so many things: 1. Joo Chiat, a trendy, low-rise historical street with lovely Peranakan architecture, cafes, boutiques, nice restaurants. 2. Multiple air-conditioned indoor malls with varied food offerings, supermarkets, medical, conveniences, etc. 3. No less than four nearby hawker centers with dozens of tasty, cheap, food stalls (mainly SE Asian). 4. Most major religious denominations represented. 5. East Coast Park (better for walking through greenways than the admittedly dirty beach). 6. And, of course, nearby MRT station with two critical lines. No more than one line change to get you almost anywhere in Singapore.

Downsides are typical for rooms on a budget: e.g., bed and towels aren't the most comfortable. No deal-breakers, though.
