Friendly staff, good location near a tram stop and Brussels North, and fine for a solo traveller.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was good, very close to a tram stop (although if walking up from Brussels North the hill is a bit steep.

A bit more bleach in the toilet would have been nice. The lift wasn't working, but I was only one floor up. Otherwise everything was clean and comfortable

Last minute call so I had to take it or leave it.

Everything was okay but there was nothing that I could say I liked it.

Bed is really uncomfortable and I guess it’s an old building so stairs/lift improvements are out of the question.

Disappointing

Couldn't expect much more for the price and we just needed a place to stay overnight so we weren't fussy. Beds were comfy. I was glad to only be staying one night.

Noisy neighbour's, shower was not clean so needed to wear shoes inside. Wasn't a very good neighbourhood

It did the job

The beds were comfy and the soap was nice. I liked the breakfast it was quite tasty.

It was very loud throughout the night , a sign or poster could help, also there was a horrible stink of tobacco on the way upstairs, and the stairs were narrow and dark. There was also flickering lights and lousy service.

The room was clean, with new towels and linen. The door opens with a card, so I didn’t feel any security issues. The location was pretty good, tram just around the corner/~20min walk.

Passable for a quick sleep

Wasn't too bad of a walk from the centre, there are trams close by and metro station as well as Gare du Nord train station, had pretty good nights sleep apart from a few awakings, it's okay if you are gone most of the day which we were, we only really used the room for sleep and shower, few shops and restaurants close by. I loved the big towels as they were really soft!

The rooms are in dear need of a renovation, moldy around the windows and in the shower, chipped walls, only one socket to charge your electronics, no hooks in the bathroom for towels and the shower always leaks the water out on the floor, so we had to sacrifice a few towels just to get that sorted. There's no rules really for any quiet hours as we were woken up at 5am by some banging something downstairs, and the other night, there was someone taking on the phone at 1am very loudly in the hallway where our room was

Skip this place

The night staff & the nonmanagerial day staff were nice but I would never recommend this hotel partly due to the location,partly due to the lying manager. My room was not cleaned I was told that they had called me to say that the cleaning person was leaving but I was in my room & never received a call. If they had in fact called it means that the phones don’t work which means things are in very bad shape there the room was already bad enough with missing Light bulbs. When the person wanted to clean I spoke to her and requested her to come back in about an hour apparently she was ready to leave . Ther manager lied and said that she called me when I left to go out, but if she had called me the phone never rang . If called I would’ve had the person clean then. instead I wasted time tidying up for the cleaning person to no avail

In addition to the problem with the lying manager it turns out that it is a very uphill walk from the station to get to the hotel it’s far enough away that I would not recommend it for anybody who is thinking oh well it’s easy walking distance it’s walkable but not an enjoyable walk with as steeply uphill as one Must go. In addition it is quite a hike to the tourist things to see in town. I would not give this a high number rating in any event but the managers blatant lying left me deciding that it should have a very low rating. It’s worth it to spend a little more elsewhere or to stay somewhere else for other reasons.

We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again

The reception guy was very friendly and helpful. Our check in and check out was easy, we were allowed to keep our luggage in the hotel for a while after the check out. We enjoyed our room and breakfast.

The elevator seems to live its own life: a few times we were stuck there for a bit, a few times it refused to bring us where we wanted to go.
