Excellent stay for weekend breakaway.

Comfortable room with excellent view of the Bay. Excellent breakfast.

There is no elevator in the building with some steep stairs to reach the top floor room. Would recommend that they open the door at the street level to allow easier checking in with luggage.

Disappointing!

Breakfast great but had to pay extra...because of our booking thru Booking.com

Upon awakening the following morning we found a significant amount of dried blood on the underside of the foot of the duvet cover...an attempt to hide this from the following occupant? Then, upon reporting this to management we got the distinct impression the we were not believed...the evidence for this being a pathetic offer of ONE FREE BREAKFAST...equal to R170!? In spite of this poor response from management we left a tip of 10% for the staff.

Fabulous location with stunning sea views. Young, energetic staff happy to help. Great coffee, tasty breakfast. Airy bright bedroom, large bed. Fab WiFi. 2 min walk into Kalk Bay - beach, tidal pools, restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. A well deserved 5⭐️

Quality of property, rooms and excellent staff. Ideally located for seafront albeit up a flight of steps. Great pool and views of the bay. Excellent breakfast.

Near perfect for all our needs

The eyrie is an excellent self-catering guesthouse on the chartfield property. Has everything you need, is large and spacious, and feels private. Definitely worth the trip. The staff went above and beyond to help us with whatever we needed.

Most of what we disliked are things beyond the guesthouse’s control or we knew going in. Be aware that finding parking near the guesthouse isn’t always easy, especially during summer. The train is a regular source of noise which needs to be considered if you have young kids. We got complimentary breakfast on Christmas Day, which we appreciated, but think portion sizes are a bit wee for price if we had been paying.

A firm favorite

It's about the 5th time Im staying at Charterfield guesthouse. So obviously, the positives outweigh the negatives. The staff are great. The hotel is old-world charming and quirky. I love the cappuccino wake up delivery. The rooms are comfy and I love the location. One of these days, I will use the pool ;)

The room is not entirely sound proof & you can hear noise from the corridor. R50 for a bottle of water in the room. Really?

The staff were very friendly, the location is perfect and the add ons like a free glass of wine in the evening and hot beverage in the morning, really adds to the total experience.

The proximity to the Main Street in Kalk Bay

On checking in we were told that we would not be given the complimentary breakfast as we had booked through Booking.com. Straight onto the naughty step. I am 80 and my wife 78 and we were given the loft with near vertical stairs, there was no phone for contact and no security safe. There was no complimentary water in the room which was at odds with the previous 4 accommodations we had stayed at.

The Staff, Kayla was very beautiful and attentive, The room was awesome and very stylish, i loved that i could open the gate with my personal tag key I loved everything including the complimentary wine on arrival

Hot drinks are brought to your room in the morning. Breakfast is delicious. Laundry is available. The staff are lovely and so helpful. The guesthouse is beautiful and in a great location.

The location was very nice, watching the ocean from my room was a pleasure. The whole place looks modern and we furnished.

Pleasant "Old world charm" overnight stay with a lovely sea view.

I was really impressed with the early morning free coffee / hot drink delivered to our room. The coffee was exceptional! The Breakfast options were unique, beautifully presented and delicious! The attention to detail was noted and it was a delight to be able to drink mint tea in a silver tea pot!

The view is absolutely breathtaking, with a full sea-facing outlook that includes the charming Kalk Bay beach and harbour. Tucked just a street back from Main Road, the location strikes the perfect balance between peaceful and accessible—I loved how easy it was to stroll to all the shops, restaurants, and cafes. Breakfast was a real highlight: delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented!
