Absolutely Everything. The design of the grounds. The setting and location. The attention to detail. The staff was welcoming, friendly, engaging and communicative. The resort is close to a river, overlooking rice fields and a gorgeous valley with a tropical hillside in the distance. There is much to do, but it’s hard to tear oneself away from the resort!

The location is great, with a fantastic view of the valley. The staff are very friendly, the luxury tents are spacious and well appointed, there is complimentary coffee and tea with sweets in the afternoon, the bed is comfortable, and the hotel offers nice activities (the cooking class was great!).

The gym could use some renovation, and there are some loose tiles in the swimming pool. Breakfast is à la carte and can sometimes take a while, which is a bit inconvenient when you have scheduled activities. Overall, we did not find the breakfast to be five-star quality.

Restaurant services are a problem. Food quality is very average, but what’s worse is a total ignorance in terms of food allergies. I am celiac and I was repeating each time I was ordering anything that I need it to be strictly gluten free still they don’t really care. I ordered nasi goreng, strictly gluten free, brought my own gluten free soy sauce asking not to use any other sauce unless stated gluten free. They follow and bring my order. I eat it and the next day I discover that chicken satays were not prepared for this exact order and they were covered with peanut sauce that contains SOY SAUCE that contains GLUTEN. Seriously. And they were just sorry that probably my stomach hurt. No guys, it’s an acute inflammatory response that damages my body. Another day I order breakfast in the room and repeat many times gluten free. They bring the order and I just repeat to double check if it’s gluten free. They go to check in the kitchen and no, the main dish was not, they had to redo it. So basically any allergy just stay away from their restaurant (anyway it’s not really good, there are way better options near by) SPA also was not even close to be a special experience, I had to ask to adjust lighting, to switch on music, the room was not prepared and looked messy. The is a resort Samanvaya next door with a wonderful SPA and service and same prices so better to use that one. Orders by the pool is another painful story, you can die of thirst in the heat still won’t have a glass of water.

Beautiful location with an out standing staff. Several fun side trips that you could do, and a walk into the shops is easy. Take advantage of the complimentary morning walk.

We had a wonderful trip. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and rooms beautiful and comfortable. The Balinese massage was amazing and we were able to arrange a silver class, rice terrace trek and cooking class through the hotel. Highly recommend!

Absolute peace, luxury , serenity and beautiful views . The staff couldn’t ha e been any more helpful, so willing to assist, so friendly . Made me feel right at home as a solo traveller . Lots of little extras for staying in a pool tent , afternoon tea , complimentary tea and coffee , a happy hour drink and delicious breakfast . Loved the live music at breakfast, would have liked to have a go myself !

We went to Wapa di Ume Sidemen for our honeymoon and it was the best choice that we could make for the destination and for the hotel! Our expectations were absolutely exceeded. All of the staff at Wapa di Ume were so friendly and polite, it was really a pleasure to meet such a nice people and to experience their hospitality and great energy. They helped us with all of the requests and questions and really contributed to the overall feeling about the hotel. The hotel itself is very beautiful and a true representative of the Bali island, its nature and spirituality, considering that it is so nicely incorporated in the surrounding area, nature and peace. All hotel areas are amazing and a true treat for the eyes. They thought about every single detail, so that guests can really feel special while staying there. Our tent was clean, spacious, with comfortable bed and amazing view. Both our private pool and hotel pools were very nice and peaceful (it was never crowded at the hotel pools). Gym is very well equipped and cleaned. Massages at the spa are amazing, relaxing and pleasant, one of the best we ever had (recommendation for Ariasih). Restaurant at the hotel (Sleeping Gajah) has fantastic food, various and great choises for everyones taste, everything beautifully served and so delicious, served by very friendly staff. We also enjoyed the hotel's location. It is a bit isolated, but the nature it has to offer is worth it. Also, there are a few very cute and good restaurants outside the hotel, some stores, cooking classes, silver jewelry making classes, rice fields worth visiting etc, but there are also scooter rentals for when you want to explore distant areas. Hotel can also arrange taxi service for you. But from our point of view, Sidemen is a great option if you want to feel the real soul and energy of Bali and definitely should be on your Bali must visit list.

We stayed in the luxury tent and it was one of the most unique places I have ever experienced. The sound of the river and the rain at night made the whole stay unforgettable. The tent was spacious clean and surprisingly comfortable. Waking up to the view of the jungle and the misty hills was something else. There are a lot of super professional spas nearby with amazing massages and several really good restaurants close to the resort. The hotel also offers complimentary tours around the rice fields and farming area which made the experience feel even more special. The staff were kind and always checked in to make sure everything was good. The food at the restaurant was fresh and well prepared. The location is quiet and feels far away from everything in the best way possible.

The location, service, the entire faculty in rice fields. Beautiful to just spend a day or two enjoying the resort.

Everything here was amazing. Location was stunning and peaceful. Staff were lovely and attentive. Food was outstanding, room was cleaned twice a day! Bed was the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in.

An amazing hotel. True 5 star. We had a one bedroom pool suite and we absolutely loved the pool. The room was so clean and had every amenity. Service was outstanding and the views from everywhere were spectacular. Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there so it was lovely to have a great hotel to relax in. We were there for the charity dinner. The hotel are raising money for a local lady to renovate her house. The dinner was excellent as was the food quality. We couldn’t eat 3 of the 4 courses so they charged the whole menu for us. The General manager seemed so proud of his hotel at the dinner. As did all the staff. What a lovely thing to do for the community! We could not fault any of the staff they were exceptionally friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to make everything special. We thought all the food was amazing from the breakfast to the free afternoon tea to the dinner. Our only regret was staying 3 nights.

This hotel is stunning. Located overlooking rice terraces in Sidemen village. 5 star from moment of arrival. Rooms were huge with big balconies. Beds comfortable. Restaurant food was delicious . Staff were fabulous and Wape hotels smell absolutely gorgeous.

Would have loved a chaise longe rather than simple table and chairs on the balcony. Glass bottles for shower gel etc not ideal… difficult to open with wet hands. Our 11yr old dropped one and broke glass all over the shower. Staff sorted this immediately though. Shower could have been warmer and stronger. Afternoon tea was hugely disappointing and choice of happy hour cocktails v limited.

The hotel is tucked away with lovely views on the surrounding hills and scenery. We enjoyed the best views from the restaurant and pool. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The tours offered are on the higher price range, but the cars are new and the drivers speak English and drive carefully.

The resort has been enlarged considerably, but didn‘t feel crowded. Some areas like the lower pool and the bar and chairs on the river bank were not open. In the room, the bathtub took all the space needed to move around, especially since there is no wardrobe and you live out of your suitcases.

Beautiful. It is as per the photos. Staff were friendly and egger to assist. We were upgraded because of our anniversary which was appreciated. Room was spacious and comfortable.

Confusing why there is a lack of service around the pool. Especially because there were so many staff in the restaurant upstairs. No clean towels, hours to clear up an area after guests leave the pool area & no drink or food orders taken by staff around the pool. You had to order over a phone and it was difficult to find menus. A shame because it was an area you did not want to leave.

Wapa di Ume Sidemen is not just a hotel but an absolute fantastic luxurious experience that keeps on giving. Apart from the amazing views of the Sidemen valley, the rice fields and the water stream you are truly treated like a royal family member. The quality of the personnel and the stay, in our case the luxe tent with pool is impeccable. We really enjoyed the personal care and fun we had with the staff who all remembered our names. The restaurant staff were caring and the food was delicious, special thanks to Santa and Indah from the restaurant. Passing by the front desk we were always greeted warmly and were asked if we were all good. They were happy to assist us with whatever we needed such as tours, advice and more. Another highlight is the transfers and car services, you are given water, cold towels and well air conditioned vehicles thank you Hardi for the nice trip. We want to personally thank Ayu for the amazing private cultural experience we had making the Canang sari (offering) and for our lovely conversations and our photo memory letter. We will definitely come back!

The view was amazing, the pool was great to hang out, the staff is super kind and helpful, we wanted to specifically thank Sri for making our stay memorable. We would definitely comeback.

The organization when going to an experience, they do not let you know in advance whether it’s happening or if it’s canceled, so for us it was really annoying to wake up at 6.00 am to see our early activity canceled when we were already waiting at the lobby.. they should let you know a bit in advance so you can either get on with sleeping or plan something else.

We appreciated the fiendly personel. Especially the driver Hardi who took good care of us :-)

Beautiful quiet location. Lovely accommodation and pools. Great food, but mostly the staff, they couldn’t do enough for you and tried to ensure you have a fabulous time.

A bit of construction work building a new access bridge, but it didn’t spoil our stay.

Views of the surrounding area are stunning. Staff are fantastic. Complimentary activities are really fun. Staff go above and beyond to make sure guests needs are met.

Some parts of the rooms look a bit dated and old. There was even some maintenance that had to be carried out on our room whilst we were staying there.

Beautiful pools, gardens, great breakfast, incredible views of the valley. Lovely staff very friendly and good at their jobs. Clean functional rooms with everything you can imagine.

The Stuff is very friendly and everything in the rooms, restaurant and the grounds is very clean. Everything is very luxury and has also its price. On the other side they carry you on hands. If you like this, you’re right at wapa the ume. Very big rooms, super comfy bed and if you are lucky also a super nice view.

We didn’t really liked the pool. It was always quite full and hard to find a space to lay down. And often there were also kids jumping and splashing. Nobody there to supervise anything. Also nobody there to serve you drinks or small bites. The water looked murky… we were in way cheaper hotels before and the pool water was always clear. A bit of a bummer to be honest. The wifi wasn’t strong and disconnected all the time. The wifi only worked properly at the small local restaurant right next to the hotel. Tours are super overpriced in the hotel but you don’t need to organize anything yourself. If you like it this way, go for it.
