Our favorite get away, on the river and in a beautiful area. We LOVE the sunroom and deck for watching blue herons cruising the river for food, and the deer frolicking in the meadow. Hopefully the view to the river stays open as the brush growing on the banks seems to be getting in the way of that million dollar view. It was much more open if I remember correctly. Nonetheless an excellent and very relaxing adventure. froiving

I enjoyed my stay very much. The house was very comfortable. I would suggest that perhaps a smart TV would be of benefit so that your guests can watch using their apps. Your home was the perfect resting spot for my over crowed mind. Thank you for your hospitality and ability to rest and rethink so many things in my life.

The location of this property is unbeatable! We absolutely loved sitting on the deck, watching the wildlife in the morning and evenings. The canoes and kayaks are wonderful, too. The house itself is charming, but a little dated. May suggest some new bedding and towels, but everything else is good. We would come back to Casa Lucia!

The River house is a wonderful, comfortable place that we hope to return to in future. The setting on the river is beautiful & relaxing and has great views that are ever changing depending on time of day and light. The house is very comfy, bright and filled with interesting and fun art! The kitchen is well stocked and there were fresh flowers in every room. It was clean and the availability of the kayaks was such a wonderful aspect of our trip! It was great to come back and take a hot tub after kayaking. Craig is quick to respond, offered great suggestions and was very easy to work with. Even with a brief power outage ( which happens in this area), Craig was in contact quickly and helpful. We will definitely be returning

We have been coming to this cabin rental on the Russian River for 8 years now and it never fails to disappoint. The cabin is cozy and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. One of the highlights of this rental is the canoes, which adds a fun and unique touch to our stays. We love taking it out on the river and having rowing competitions with our friends and family. The kayaks and bikes provided with the cabin are a great bonus as well. We love spending our days exploring the beautiful Russian River on the kayaks and biking through the picturesque surrounding area. The cabin itself is clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The outdoor deck is perfect for enjoying meals al fresco and taking in the stunning views of the river. The owners are always friendly and accommodating, making sure that we have everything we need for a wonderful stay. We look forward to our annual trip to this cabin every year and can't wait to come back again next year. Thank you for providing such a fantastic vacation rental!

We loved our stay at Casa Lucia in Duncans Mills. However the stay was marred by not having the access code sent to us in the welcome email. The website assistant (an AI bot) was worse than helpful, as it proved to be a time waste. The email constantly sent us to a request to set up an account and download an app, all of which we did, but being the day of check in, didn't recognize we had a reservation. Owner was unavailable, phone support was slow, and didn't seem to have a good script for helping, and we almost had to stay in another location for the night... at least... Made me re-consider using VRBO again.

I stayed here for a week prior to Christmas. Pictures of the property do not do it justice! It is gorgeous, warm and inviting. Check and checkout was seamless. Craig was a very attentive host who checked in throughout my stay to ensure I was enjoying myself. I spent most of my stay in the River room. You just can’t beat that Russian River view and the various wildlife you see. I highly recommend a stay here. If you want peace and quiet and to feel safe since the property is on a private road - stay here. The location is perfect bc it’s close many spectacular areas and great places to dine. I love Duncan Mills and was grateful to have the opportunity to stay here. What a treat!!

We had a lovely time! It was the perfect home base for a long weekend. It is even cuter than the pictures, with a great kitchen set up. We really enjoyed the River view, hot tub, and kayaks. We were able to go for hikes in the redwoods and walks along the beach all within a short drive. Thank you for having us!

I would call Casa Lucia our favorite home away from home, only our homes aren’t nearly this lovely (and fun). Casa Lucia is better! Our four day vacation stay was the best in recent memory and upon arrival, we had everything set up for a long weekend of fun: wildlife watching, kayaking every day and biking. We adored the cute little town of Duncan Mills (Cape Fear, the Gold Coast Bakery, General Market and the adorable little tea shop). We kayaked to Jenner and had brunch at Café Aquatica and later that evening had a not-to-be-missed dinner at River’s End (fabulous in all regards). Craig was the consummate host and was so informative and kindly helped with all of our needs. We can’t wait to book our next adventure at Casa Lucia! Highly recommend.

The property is in a lovely location (note due to proximity to coast, there is more fog but also more river than Guernville). Great views, very well equipped kitchen and good facilities for outdoor activities. We appreciated the meadow and jacuzzi. The property was however very dusty with any less obvious surfaces (top of fridge, headboard of bed etc) untouched. We left with sore eyes from the dust. We raised with the owner who was apparently unable to get the cleaners to return to do a proper job. Quite a long list of check out requirements, including washing towels - was somewhat galling in the circumstances. I would not return unless properly cleaned and refurbed (yes, that shower!) but if not dust sensitive it’s a nice rental.

My family had a wonderful stay at Casa Lucia and utilized most of the amenities. We kayaked, soaked in the hot tub, enjoyed seeing so much wildlife in the meadow including a fox, a family of quails, deer. So many more birds on the river including the Blue Heron. The house was well equipped for anything we needed. My communications with the host were easy. Wifi was good and we even had cell service (AT&T). In our 5 nights there, not once did we turn on the tv! We were too busy enjoying the place and eachother. It’s a secluded street with some houses along the river. We saw minimal people midweek but as expected, more showed up over the weekend. The only thing I could possibly complain about this place is the tiny shower, but that’s really a first world problem. An added bonus, the property has a lovely garden full of flowers and just about every room had a vase with some fresh flowers when we arrived. I was SOLD! We will definitely keep this place on our list. It was wonderful!

It was absolutely wonderful to be back, watching the Blue Herons float down the River looking for dinner and waiting for a deer to show up on the property. Overall, a great family place. If you go, have to try the savory rolls and cinnamon twists Gold Coast Coffee and Bakery in Duncans Mills. Also, if you golf Northwood is a great course (9-hole) and family friendly.

I booked this home for my annual three friend reunion. We absolutely loved our stay here. We relaxed, cooked dinner in, rode bikes to the local coffee shop, hiked on the coast, kayaked down the river, and went in the hot tub. Perfect time with good friends. Bobcat, heron, bald eagles, and many more. So serene and relaxing just sitting on the desk. The little town with the shops is precious. My favorite is the General Store. This vacation home is one of the best we have stayed in. Down a country road on the 'quiet' side of the Russian River. A beautiful meadow in front that you pass through to a small dock right on the river. Splendid! We cooked Thanksgiving dinner in the very, very well equipped kitchen. Large living-room and additional connected family room so there was plenty of space in the common areas. Just a few miles to Jenner and Hwy. 1 for a lovely coastal drive. I will definitely book again!

I can’t say enough good things about this home. It was perfectly located on the river and had exactly what we needed for our getaway. Craig was extremely helpful with suggestions of where to go for biking/hiking/kayaking/dining and everything he suggested was fabulous. We biked 18 miles round trip from the house to beautiful redwoods and kayaked down the river to eat brunch by the ocean. The kitchen was well stocked with all the pots and pans for us to make dinner twice. The hot tub overlooked the river and we enjoyed multiple nights of stargazing (and saw shooting stars!). The house was clean and welcoming. I 100% would go back!

The property and surrounding area had everything we were looking for. Within 5 minutes there were 3-4 hikes available that we turned into a 9 mile long challenging hike that we recuperated from at The Blue Heron! We enjoyed other local shops, The Wine and Cheese shop and a few chosen vineyards a bit further out. A day trip down the coast to Point Reyes National park and a great restaurant called Due West for dinner was very doable. In all a wonderful area of California to visit!

It was absolutely lovely and charming. A very peaceful and relaxing getaway, just what we were looking for. We had a great time kayaking on the river and hanging out in the hot tub. The surprise extra is that it's far enough from the city lights to give a fantastic clear view of the stars at night.

This was one of the best getaways we’ve had in a long time. The property is magical. It’s peaceful and serene filled with all sorts of animals and birds throughout the day. We checked out local wineries, sights and lots of local food. The house has beautiful flowers and plants around the property and fresh cut flowers were in the house which was a nice touch. We loved hanging on the back deck, hot tub morning and night and even enjoyed some wine down on the dock and watched the fog roll in and the cows and goats graze on the hill across the way. We were very cozy in the house. It was just perfect for us for our anniversary. We will definitely be back…hopefully sooner than later…thanks for sharing your lovely home.

A beautiful, quiet spot on the Russian River nearer the coast that is extremely cosy and comfortable. Great for a bigger family, we were only 3 and there was plenty more room. We loved being this far west and seeing the tidal fluctuations of the river and the ample bird life. Duncan's Mill had everything we needed and we very much cherished being away from the bustle of Guerneville. Thanks to Craig, Paloma, and family for the creative & homey touches!

The house is amazing but we won’t be coming again because the shower is very dark and small. My child refused to shower because it was too dark and the temperature not stable. My mom is short, the shower head is narrow and the shower stall so small the shower would spray the back wall before ever reaching her. It was a bit comic. Other than that no issues. The host is great, very responsive and sweet. If you’re not particular about showers, shouldn’t have any deterrents. The fridge and dishwasher could be improved. The freezer is leaking a bit of water into the fridge. The dishwasher is very old and looks a bit dingy, but works. The views are breathtaking. The neighbors are quiet. Every evening you can see the deers come to the backyard. It’s really lovely.
