Scammed

There was nothing to like since the owner rented this apartment to someone else

I booked a Junior 2 bedroom apartment at Close to Gigante last March which was confirmed. When I contacted the owner to confirm my parking reservation, he sent me to Hotel 5 Cinque to pay directly there. To my surprise, he also rented out my Junior apartment to someone else and set me up with 2 rooms at this hotel without my knowledge. I am very upset being that the apartment offered a kitchen, washer, pool and ocean view. My family came with groceries for our stay but we had to throw them away because we no longer had a kitchen nor a refrigerator. I called the number for Close to Gigante and the owner said he needed to get a coffee and would call back. He proceeded to correspond through the WhatsApp (didn't want Booking to know what was going on) and agreed to return $200. off the bill or he could cancel the reservation. Being that we are from another country and had no where to go, we had to take the rooms.My family and I were shafted by this guy Natalino. Additionally, some of the pictures on his add are actually of the Hotel 5 Cinque which is a completely different property and address than Close to Gigante. The whole thing was a fraud and Booking should stay away from this guy and his false representation.

Great location, clean, lots of room, laundry machine!

Clean and lots of space! Great location, I loved being able to do laundry, and the kitchen was nice. Not sure why there was a bad review, it’s not fancy nor perfect but was perfectly great for our stay. And Ms. Donatella was very nice and communicative.

SCAM

I have a feeling that this was a SCAM. We rented this 2 bedroom apt with kitchen and AC, and the moment we got to Monterosso they took us to a mediocre hotel with a tiny bedroom without AC, without giving any explanation.Horrible experience. The next morning, after complaining, the lady said it was Booking’s fault because they booked something that wasn’t available so she took it upon herself to find us a hotel nearby. Not true, if that was the situation she would have explained that in the beginning, not the next day and after complaining. Very shady. Conclusion: we paid close to 850 dollars for 4 nights in an apartment and we ended up in a crappy hotel room that costs half the price. Booking is not taking responsibility for it, and the apartment owner (if she’s even the owner or if this apartment even exists) is not taking responsibility for it either. Nobody is reimbursing any money and they basically laughed at us. We had to throw away all the food we had planned to cook to save money and our vacation got ruined because it was hotter inside that tiny room than outside. And it was 90 degrees outside. Shame on you, Booking, for allowing such scams on your site and not protecting your customers.
