About this house rental

This vintage home use to be a church in the late 1800's. What was once a place of worship with its tall ceilings has been renovated into a one of a kind home with all new bathroom, kitchen, comfortable beds, covered porch and spacious backyard.
There are four bedrooms that can comfortably sleep ten along with two and a half baths. On the first floor you will find the master with its own private bathroom and queen bed perfect for elderly guest or the guest with disability that can't used steps. Upstairs you will find a full bathroom and 3 bedrooms, one bedroom with two double beds, another with a king, and a room with two single beds. We also have a queen air mattress for the common area.
You will have all the comforts of home in this one of the kind house to enjoy your trip. Our house has a fully equipped Kitchen, clean towel and sheets, Keurig coffee maker(bring your favorite K-Cup), washer and dryer, high speed internet, cable TV, and plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. We have also provided board games and books and plenty of cozy places to enjoy them along with a bar with glasses (drinks not provided)

This is also great space for having a family event like, reunion, baby or bridal shower, birthday or graduation party , just let us know prior to your booking, we may request extra fee or deposit for events and keep in mind that there is limited parking space on the property. Very nice home, however you advertised 7 beds; 1 king, 2 queens, 4 twins but there was only 1 queen not 2. So one guest had to sleep on the couch

Always love to stay here! It’s such a cool old church, and had everything we needed for a Thanksgiving dinner that couldn’t be beat. Plenty of room for everyone. Sorry about the late check-out, we had a lot of leftovers to pack up.

We loved our short stay in this home. The host was very flexible and easy to communicate with. We were close enough to downtown PSU to make coming and going easy enough. This old church had so much character and was a really cool place to stay! Would stay again and recommend to family/friends.

My husband and his friend went to State College for the USA Olympic Wrestling Trails and they said the place was great! Great location, great house, no complaints. Would stay again for other events at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Located in the heart of Pine Grove mills, this charming house suited our family well. We were 6 adults, siblings and cousins. Plenty of space for all. Loved the history of the house. Another cousin lives in Pine Grove Mills and has always been curious about the Church House and now she got to see inside. We had a family emergency and Sherry was very accomodating and responsive.

I have been driving by this place for years, admiring it from the outside. When I was looking for a local spot to host a dinner party and it popped up, I knew I had to rent it! It's just as wonderful on the inside as it is on the outside, just the right mix of modern renovations and antique charm. I was the only person who stayed overnight, and I used the downstairs bedroom. Upstairs is sort of a dormitory or hostel-like arrangement, a few rooms with several beds. It would be great for a large family or a group of close friends. If you are coming from out of town it is a good location for biking or a short drive to Whipple Dam park, Shaver's Creek / Lake Perez, Penn State, Historic Boalsburg, etc. Short walk to fine(-ish) dining and live music at Pine Grove Hall or Naked Egg Cafe for breakfast/lunch. Highly recommended!

Such a perfect place to stay when visiting state college

This charming home was the perfect location for our annual "sibling reunion," a group of eight 60+-year-old adults. Every year, we gather at State College for an overnight stay—a time to get caught up and to reminisce. The property is exactly as described. The spacious kitchen and dining room provided an excellent alternative to dining in a restaurant. Our hostess was responsive to our questions and requests. Lots of space and linens. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. Highly recommended.

The home is magnificent! We loved all the details and the rooms were spacious. The house is close to Penn State so it was perfect for our family to celebrate our sons graduation. The kitchen is cute and had everything we needed to cook some meals. One funny thing that happened...my husband told me he was hearing voices in the night. He was not crazy there is someone who must reside in the lower level. I am a heavy sleeper so I did not hear anyone until the morning. It makes for a funny story. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back to see a football game!

This was a very unique and interesting place to stay. The location was very convenient if you are going to Penn State - only a few miles from campus. The owners were also very responsive when I messaged them. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.

Everything was fine but it's four bedrooms, not five. When I called the property manager about that she said there was an air mattress available. That would have been fine if the listing said five beds but it clearly said five bedrooms.

This was the perfect house and location for a family gathering over Easter weekend. My daughter and her fiance live in State College which is only a 15 minute drive away and the house had plenty of room for the 11 of us to hang out together in the large open plan living area, and for the 9 of us to sleep. There is also plenty of parking for family coming from various places in their own cars. The kitchen was very well equipped, the beds very comfortable and there was plenty of seating both inside and out. We would definitely stay here again -- plus you cannot beat the price in the State College area.

I mostly picked this home because of location-close to my mom’s memory care home & brother in Boalsburg. Location was perfect, but this home is so beautiful and unique. It had a special feel (like you were on vacation), not just a regular home. We actually reheated an entire Thanksgiving dinner. Kitchen was very well equipped. We watched the World Cup & a movie. The check in /check out procedures were so easy. Not too much on the way out-leave beds unmade & take out trash. Our big dog was allowed to stay. He is a very good pup, easy and well trained, but a lot of properties only allow small dogs. Plenty of room for his bed. I/we will definitely stay here again!! Thanks for opening up this home to visitors!!
