Maison Fosson is a modern, clean building with a great location. The apartment was very well presented and very comfortable. Being able to walk straight out across the snow in the morning to the mid-station of the Champoluc gondola was a novel and enjoyable experience. Breakfast was provided each day on the top floor of the building and was excellent. If you have the legs for it after a day of skiing, I'd recommend Rifugio Novez, which is a 15-minute walk up the piste from Maison Fosson and has a nice atmosphere, lovely views back down the valley towards Maison Fosson and Champoluc beyond, and very good food and wine.

The owners warn about this, but it is necessary to make advance reservations at one of the restaurants in Crest to be sure of having dinner. We had hoped to be able to eat in the Hotel Edelweiss, which shares the same building as Maison Fosson, but they were unable to accommodate us even when we tried to book a table for dinner two days in advance! Also bear in mind the breaks in service for the public (non-ski pass) operation of the gondola - while we were there, the ski pass service stopped at 5pm, with departures after that at 6:30pm, 7:30pm and then a long break until 10:30pm (times vary by day/season). So you need to plan a little carefully for going down to Champoluc to get supplies or visit a restaurant, and get back.
