Great central location for exploring in a beautiful cottage .

We loved the cottage, loved the location. The home made cake on arrival was delightful. We were made to feel very welcome Jackie was lovely. We would highly recommend staying in such a beautiful part of the world in a fabulous clean and comfortable well appointed cottage.

We would recommend this property for a short break for couples.

Jackie was a truly excellent host. She got in touch a week or so before our arrival and gave us very helpful directions. We really appreciated her friendly welcome on arrival, including a homemade chocolate cake and her local knowledge, which meant we had a wonderful weekend in beautiful surroundings. The property is ideally located for exploring Exeter, Dartmoor and beyond with very easy, quick access to the main A30 trunk road. As far as the accommodation goes, Jackie has thought of everything! It is beautifully appointed, fully equipped and very comfortable.

We maybe thought the outside area does not make the best use of the view of the surrounding countryside, but this did not affect our stay as we were visiting in winter.

Le logement est spacieux, calme, confortable, très bien équipé et idéalement placé si l'on veut se promener dans le Dartmoor. Nous recommandons vivement!

Comme à la maison. Un voyage intérieur.

Un cottage anglais comme on en rêve après avoir lu des bouquins de littérature anglaise. Tout semble avoir été conçu pour que notre famille s'y sente bien. Jackie, notre hôtesse est une femme de coeur et a su équiper son cottage pour que ce lieu soit un havre d'hospitalité. Tous les produits nécessaires sont présents. Et l'on accueille le voyageur éreinté avec un gâteau et des cookies. C'est dire si on a le sens de l'accueil ! Et le Devon est lui aussi un territoire comme on en rêve quand on aime la littérature anglaise. La campagne dans ce qu'elle a de meilleur. Simplicité et générosité. Un pays où on ne s'embarrasse pas du superflu et où on sait rendre l'essentiel "cosy". Jacky et sa famille, le Devon, nous ont procuré de la joie et une force intérieure parce qu'il nous ont donné sans faire d'histoire ce que nous attendions sans le savoir. Merci !

Tout était fait pour nous et correspondait aux valeurs de notre famille et puis de toute façon, mais je n'ai pas l'habitude de perdre du temps avec les choses désagréables. Je les oublie. Mais avec le Old Shippen, j'ai décidé de tout garder en mémoire et de ne rien oublier.
