Good size cottage for 2 or young family. Comfortable double bed. Kitchen had all equipment. Lovely garden with river running through. Parking outside or nearby. Electric heater in lounge made it warm but central heating not on upstairs. Great pub food next door.

Felt a bit like it needed airing before we arrived.

It’s a charming little terrace with a large back garden and very close to the local pub, only a minutes walk. The area is quiet and the nearby village a quaint little place. I’d describe it as off the beaten track. The pub has a large play area, bouncy castle and it does great food with a good selection of drinks, it closes around 10:30. They also have occasional live music, but we didn’t experience this. It’s not a rowdy pub. The area is quiet at nighttime. The property is very well equipped with just about everything you would need, including towels and toilet roll. The host even provides little essentials like dishwasher tabs and washing powder. It is cool downstairs, which was perfect for when we were visiting, but when it’s closer it has a very effective electric heater which quickly warms the room. Communication from the host was good, we had clear instructions and prompt responses to our queries.

The internet is slow (under 9mbps) and cell reception poor, probably because of its remote location. The host promised to address the slow internet with the provider. Be prepared to drive or pay high prices. We got a taxi to another close by pub (meeting family there) but found it difficult to get a return. The landlord of the pub very kindly drove us back, otherwise we were looking at an expensive pre-booked journey (the taxi there cost us £6, the pre-booked return would have been £26) The property was clean overall, but the shower mat was quite dirty and the backs of the doors were thick with dust. My son found a used false nail/shellack on the floor of our room. The shower unit is very temperamental and slow. Trying to increase the flow by selecting high resulted in it running hot and cold. Also, the shower head bracket doesn’t grip the pole and gradually slides down as you shower. There is parking, but it can be quite tight, it’s on the road.
